I read about the desectioning when you posted it and took note...I think it's genius. It adds headroom (right?), it makes the chop look lower, and you get to run a full sized radiator. Off the top of my head your car has to me my favorite Model A coupe right now. Like the new tail lights, and liked the hood too.

Hearst Castle is very cool. Just take tour 'A'. When you're in Pismo make sure you eat some chowder at The Splash Cafe. And drive slowly there, the cops REALLY have nothing to do. The Pismo car show is neat in that you get to park on the pier. Should be a good photo op.

By the way, check out my new Ellco linkage that I got from Marty at Northwest Customs. It works real good. I used to run all the carbs at once off of a hokey set up that I tried to get to work. This set up is progressive, and it makes a world of difference. The engine runs off of the center carbs (the primarys) and when you put down the LOUDPEDAL the outside four (the secondarys) come in. You best be hangin' onto something!

I put them on and they were RPMing the engine too much. My other tires were 3" taller.. that's why. I wanted to run them, but I wasn't sure if the engine (or my wallet) could take all that RPM for such a long distance. So I switched back to my old ones.

We are back to our hotel room from the race track. What a BLAST! First we did the cornering test. Cones were set up 70' apart. You drove through the cones as fast as you could without knocking one over. Big fun. Then we did the brake test. We had to get up to a speed of 65 mph and then stop as fast as we could. The stopping distance was measured from the cones to the front of the car... And yes, I lost that one by a LONG way!! Then it was to the drag strip. Willy went first, then Herman, Ross, Don, me and then Bob.

The track was way slick. All of the cars were not getting any traction, and you could hear the tires start to spin as each car hit second gear. Don's first run was a wild ride. As the car shifted to second gear, the car turned to the left. Don was right on top of it steering his coupe the other way. The car went left to right a couple of times and started going side to side. Don's car hit the wall on the right front first and then the back fender did as well. Don is ok and in good sprits. He says "shit happens". He bent up his front fender and scraped the paint on the rear. The tie rod was bent in the accident and was rubbing on the crank pulley.

After the drag strip, we had a tour of the So-Cal speed shop. It's a cool place. Metal working machines, machine tools, hot rods, hot rod parts... you name it, it was there. We got to see a few secret projects that the shop is working on. We were not allowed to take pictures in that room. Don was able to put some repairs on the coupe there. Now we are just sitting at the Hotel recharging our batteries. Tuesday we have a private tour of the NHRA museum, and then they announce the winner. Then it's on the way back home. We will stop overnight in Vegas.
