To ALL our HAMB FRIENDS…….

First of all the Dead Town 8 would like to thank everyone for their concern and support during very difficult times.

Through a series of events over the past 8 months, a lot of changes have been brought about. Good and bad.

With DeadTown 8 in its infant state, we all became closer together and with Shawn’s sudden passing the club was forced into adulthood. As a result, a lot of true colors began to show. In this we have found our core. Through all the chaos we have found clarity.

These events have forced us to reconsider who we are affiliated with as a group.

We have decided to change our name to preserve the integrity of our core group and Shawn’s memory.

We feel honored and privileged to have been formerly invited by Evel, on behalf of the California Chapter, with the blessing from the Texas Chapter, to form the Oklahoma Chapter of “THEM!”

For the preservation of our sanity and our integrity we have decided to accept the offer.

Ironically enough, in the forming of Dead Town 8, Shawn, Monkey and Sexton had discussed the possibilities of becoming a chapter. Rashy had separately been pondering the thought as well ever since hanging with THEM! Texas in Dallas.

This is the decision we’ve made as a group.

We would like to thank each of you for your unconditional love and support.

We are doing this to ensure that we do stay together. We ARE close. Family.

There is absolutley no internal crap amongst the group you hung with at Pistons &amp; Paint.

We have added Rev and Dougy to the mix as well.

I think it's important to note that we weren't a typical club. This is also what we like about THEM! Texas.

No meetings, dues, officials. Just friends, hanging out and enjoying a shared interest.

This is more about showing our respect for friendships made than it is about any name.

Buzzard...the core club group is the group that was at Piston's and Paint. Over the past 5-6 months certain people have kind of weeded themselves out of our group. In the long run this has been better for us because you can definately see how tight we all are now as a result of it. We are actually going to be able to function as a club, as oppose to having members that never want to help others and never attend events. All of us in the club now would do anything, anytime for eachother and basicly any brother in need. Those who's personal agendas were different from ours and all the political crap that went along with it are now gone. Our true friendships have kept the core together and that's something Shawn always wanted. We are definately excited and ready to leave old behind and strive toward the new. We plan to be very active and stay that way. Everyone has a running car and we plan to drive the shit out of them into the winter and all through next season.

Well I'm the first off I like to say that having OK chapter is really special
for the fact that after what happen to Sean I saw how every one united to
comfort and help each other through a tough situation..It seems that were
all into the same cuture and not all about having a club that too serious or scenester..
Just good friends that have cars and want to get together and hang out...

Good to hear about the club! I think it would be cool if someone orginized a racing event up this way too, but not at Yellowbelly! That place sucks, I don't mind going to some rough places, but that is just asking for some shit! About a month ago there was a video on the news of some guy getting stabbed in front of the stands. The other funny thing that keeps popping up is the YellowBelly issue. It was talked about in a preivious post that Dirty31 had on holding a nostalgia drags.

Its definately a cool old track that I can remember as a kid from back in the 60's. I grew up in that town. Use to be a roundy round track next to it and I think there still is.

I'm getting the ball KingHag gave me drilled today, turns out there is a bowling alley about 5 minutes from the new house and old dude is DESPERATE for clientelle sp?.

He is plugging, drilling and resurfacing that ball for $25.

He also has a ball for Tracy (easy now) that he is going to sell her and redrill/resurface, all for $10.

We may need to test the lanes one night and crash at Rancho de Rash.

I saw another post about someone with a projector that was going to show AG on the side of his shop...

I think I can get two more cars in mine and the walls are fresh white.

It was the palce to race for the kids in Dallas in the 50s and 60s.
