:confused:I am just wondering why some one builds a hot rod, goes out to the drag strip and will not run it. I hear people say they don't want to "tear it up" but I think that's crap! If I drive my car to the store it gets floored at least once! If your car will break because you floored it for a 1/4 mile then something is wrong with your car!
The other thing I hear is it's not fast enough. So what?! At least make a few passes.
Well that's my thoughts.

Well I guess that was a little different intro. I have been into cars since I was old enought to hand my dad a wrench. I have had many differnt cars, trucks and motorcycles over the years. Everything I owned was lifted, lowered or modified in one way or another. My T-Bucket is the first hot rod I built from the ground up. I have had it on the road for about 6 months. It took almost 5 years but I did alot of scrounging and was able to complete it for about $8k.
Yesterday I got to run it at the Southwest Nostalgia drags. Because of saftey rules, I only got to run the 1/8th mile. My best time was 7.6 seconds and my best speed was 93.9 mph.
As far as the race track, I know not every one likes to race. But I know people who will do burnouts and fly all over town, but won't do one pass where it is LEGAL to do that. I guess if your having fun with your car that's what counts.

Watched a guy from " Slick Devils " hit the wall with his model A just before crossing finish line. Slim in our club " Pistons flipped his 32 upside down at 108 mph two years ago.

Blown Green T, I agree with you, If they would just give it a try they might find out what their missing. There is nothing like the rush of being on that starting line with that whole strip to fly down and nobody stop ya! As the old saying goes "It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on" :D That's my opinion ----------Spike-----------

Take it to Bonneville and holdit open for 3 miles or if you can run over 175 hold it open for 5 miles. You'll find out just how good that engine build was.

i cant wait to go down the track in my coupe but it is not safe right now and its not worth wrecking it. their is somthing realy wrong with the front end that causes the wheels to shack baddly when im on it , but cruising around its fine. when i feel safer in it ill be their seeing what it can run.
