Got a birthday coming up and the wife saw me drooling over the HENROB web-site. She said buy it, it's your birthday gift! That's what I'm talkin' about! The master kit comes with 6 tips and a curved extension for getting into tight places like around exhaust pipes. The kit sells for $399 with free shipping. Anybody come across a better deal?

Yeah, but her sisters don't make near as much money as she does...not as good lookin' either... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Make sure you get the really small sheetmetal tip.

You can get the cheaper kit without the curved tip. That tip is useful for exhaust pipe welding.

remember that to make full use of it you need the low-pressure regulators... they can run up to about $300 over and above the torch itself, from what i understand...

I've used mine with two different sets of standard regulators. Seems to work just fine.

The "top of the line" kit that this place
http://www.cut-like-plasma.com/info_henrob2000_products.htm offers has six tips AND the long curved tip which runs $50 more than the basic kit.
The regulators are pricey, my oxy/acet rig has 0-30 PSI on the acet side marked in 1 PSI increments but the oxy side is marked in 5 PSI steps.

Call and ask if they have a sale coming up; Ive seen them do it as low as $289.

Once you get used to it the Mig and plasma cutter will gather cobwebs.

Just picked mine up Saturday, waiting on my acetylene regulator to get here, cant wait to get started with it.
Said to cut better than a plasma, but I would say after watching him, it cuts better than one, at least better than the Miller spectrum thunder piece of junk I have.

If I can do half of what the guy demoing it did I wont be using my mig or plasma either.

Sorry, but this is bad information.

You do not need any extra regulators. The important thing is to get a nice, neutral, "just off feather" flame--which is indeed easier with lower pressures. But it's the same flame that you'd use on a Vitcor or any other Oxy-Acetylene torch.

My Henrob came with an instruction sheet recommending how to get the pressures right with the regulators you already have. (In my opinion, Henrob makes a bigger deal over 4 psi for both Oxy and Acetylene than necessary.)

I would also definitely NOT buy from Eastwood for the best deal. Why get a pricey middle man involved in the sale?

Call Rob at 1-800-505-3687, or visit www.Henrob2000.com. (http://www.Henrob2000.com.) I believe that he's the Rob in Henrob and will give you the best deal. He'll also include the small sheetmetal tip that Tman was talking about.

(Don't ask me how www.Henrob2000.com (http://www.Henrob2000.com) differs from www.cut-like-plasma.com (http://www.cut-like-plasma.com), cuz I don't know.)

I just called Rob (no he's not the "ROB" in Henrob") and ordered the "internet special". Full kit with 5 tips, special blue goggles filter for aluminum, case, and instructional video for $339 delivered. Rob is a straight-up guy and easy to talk to, he says that there are independent distributors and each sets his own price. I'm happy with this deal, thanks Deuce for the heads-up!

You're welcome for the heads up. I really hope you like the Henrob.

Rob does seem like a really good guy, and it sounds like you got a great deal.

I think I want one of these things....

Does it really work better than a normal torch? Seems like you can do all this stuff with a regular tocrch?

That henrob thing does look cool though.

Bob - go to www.cut-like-plasma.com (http://www.cut-like-plasma.com) and watch the videos, you'll be impressed. I have a nice Smith top-of-the-line plasma cutter, torches, and a new Lincoln 175+ MIG setup...I'm thinking they'll all just be takin' up space in the garage now. The video where the guy takes this tiny Henrob and slices a piece off the end of a 1/2 inch bar stock like he was using a Ginsu knife on a tomato will make a believer outta anybody. I just hope I can do half of what they show in the videos, check 'em out....
