I recently obtaind a1954 Willys pu with 4wd drive. Looking at the possibility of seting the body on an S10 4wd frame (118 in. wheel base)for beter brakeing, ride and more power. Any suggestions?

Welcome. Do a search for frame swap and you will find lots of helpful info on doing a S10 frame swap.

welcome from Australia. Dont know about frame swaps but dana diffs from the international scout II are the right width to swap into your existing frame and have disc brakes etc. this was the route i had intended to go with my willys until i found a 2WD i-beam to suit, hope this helps. Also there are heaps of sites for these trucks with info for frame swaps. did you try doing a search on here for willys pickup? you will find some interesting stuff, goodluck with your project
