Does anyone have pics of a suicide front end with shocks??
I was wondering about making some sort of lever hooked to axle and the shocks laying down under the frame where they are hidden.
I know it's not what you asked for but here it is anyway http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Is that the shock mounted to the wishbone?

Here ya go, its a home-made frame with F-1 shock mounts, and the botton hooks to a bracket just above the spring shackle. -Joe

That's a Lever Shock, common of British cars. Also found on some older domestics.
Typing "suicide" into the search box at the bottom of the page will get you LOTS of pics.

The shock isn't gonna work as well laying on it's side......may not work at all. After thinking about this a little more, a "gas" shock is what you should start with....seems like a good idea hiding the shocks...?

CTFuzz is right, MOST shockes won't work for long installed horizontally. BUT, my 2CV, and ALL 2CVs with tubular shocks have them horizontal. Maybe you should source shocks from a 2CV??
Bonus, they work without a lot of travel, so might even be better for your application.

Not really traditional but it might give you an idea how to link the axle to the shocks.
