Well today I finally got out to the farm and pulled the tarp off my '46 donor chassis and started making preparations to fire the old flathead and see what I've got. Changed oil, pulled the plugs and shot a bit of oil in each cylinder, Turned it over by hand and every thing felt OK so I hooked the jumpers on and the started cranked it over good so as soon as I get the carb that Dan sent last week I will get to see if it runs.
My question. This engine has a separate coil mounted to the left side of the engune next to the oil filter. It says Neihoff on it and the distributor has two bundles of four wires each coming out or the top intead of the old crab style cap. Have I not been paying attention all these years or is this an aftermarket set up. I allways thought the front mounted dizzys were all the crab style caps.
