Clark, make sure you get some pictures on the beach. This was one of the main reasons I went. Now if I can just get another one from the salt. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The races were held north of the hotels that every body stays in. I think an antique club put them on. There used to be an atique show and swap north of town too.
Tommy nice picture!!!! I've got several of the 48. In one we're doing donuts on the beach. The first year I went the camrea broke and all the pics I took were ruined.

I'm trying to get my '54 done for The Turkey Run but i don't think it's gonna happen, unless a garage space falls into my lap.

I think Ormond Beach has there gaslight parade the same weekend.
All the resto guys go there, they might do something on the beach.
I don`t know for sure.
The only thing I`ve ever seen at the track was some vintage sprint car club used to take a few laps around the track.
Remember to stop by the Draglinks camp and buy some of our stuff.

Clark,it sound like you are talking about Ormond Beach,
the town just north of Daytona.
They have a show on an air strip, antique only, that`s where it
all started years ago. A guy drove his hot rod roadster to
the show and the purist kick him out,No Hot Rods!
The next year he started his own show at a school yard
a few miles south. This is where the Turkey Rod Run started.
Ormond Beach was a swap meet everyone would hit early Sat
morning.I quit bothering with Ormond about ten years ago,
they have dryed up.
I don`t know of any racing on the beach, allthough Ormond has
a parade down AIA.Not sure if they still do that.
The swap in the speedway and car corral is hugh, but most
of the good shit from individuals cleaning their garages
is being replaced by big vendors selling the same shit,
import tools,SBC shit,Tee shirts,and kit cars and billet supplys,etc.
If it doesn`t rain, you`ll have a good time.
Last week was Octoberbikefest,WOW what a blast.Bikers put
it on your calander for next year.

Good Luck...JR

ps...I`ll tell MacNamara you`ll be down.

BlownRanger... Dennis knows I'll be down. He's not going to make it this year. He said they do have the race up at Ormond beach. It is for pre-1927 and you have to be preregistered. Looks like no racing on the beach for me http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
