Had a blast at the Drags this weekend... many thanks to the Kontinentals and to the FlyRite guys for the burgers and dogs on Sunday.

The flatty's fastest was 16.48 at 78.76 mph against one of Buzzard's 13-second runs... here's the UPDATED VIDEO (http://www.e-burwell.com/eburwell/images/DayDrags04/Blake_v_Buzzard3.MPG) .

Squank got to do a few mini-bike hot laps with KoolKat, EvilFordCoupe, and Flt-Blk... still got mud in my teeth!

KoolKat's mini is stupid fast...

I have clips of just about everyones run but no website to post it! I even got video of the minibike train racing down the side of the track with the announcer yelling "come on guys 5 miles an hour slow it down"..

My 8ba's best showing was 21.07 @ 63.24 MPH.....
I guess thats not too bad for a stocker running a single 94 surrounded by over 3000 lbs of steel.....

We had a blast too!!!!

All the riding on the mini-bikes makes me want one now. Thanks.

Thanks to all that came out to Flyrite on Sunday.

The Round Up '05 will be our last Un-Official grand opening barbq.

Not bad at all HC. I told ya you'd take the stock, 1 barrel, full body, flat head class. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

that things a runner Blake!
It's pretty cool to have the fastest flat head at the track.
in a street car that looks that good and get's driven all over hell and back.

makes you wonder what it would take to get your coupe close to the 15's.
I'm thinking maybe 4 1/2 inches http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I redlighted so you still won! I was cutting some REALLY quick lights. Outlaws .523 lights can't hang with mine. I was down in the 3's! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the video. Cool thing is, Krupa was at the other end filming with his digi camera so I have to whole run. My shifts weren't that bad.

Thanks, and good point... 4-1/2 inches and one less carb would prolly get me there! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think Johnny Law was just sore that them golf carts couldn't catch the mini-bikes. If I had a dime for each time I got told to slow it down I could put a down payment on one o' them Manly Marty Mega-Beers!

HOTWHEEL - you and me... flatty's... next year.

BUZZARD - those shifts were sweet... nothing like that ol' Saginaw in '02! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I wouldn't call 'em sweet, but not as bad as wingnutz made it sound. That shifter on the Saginaw was an adventure.

Edit: or as bad as Bass makes 'em sound.

Just kidding...the Buzzard's coupe ran and sounded great this year. But I did hear crickets chirping and saw a tumbleweed roll through in between your shifts. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not nearly as good as a guy that took off when the second bulb of the staging lights lit up...! (Ooops that was me at 16... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif!)

I've been sitting here trying to figure out how to get that video from the other end of the track hosted so I can post the link. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The funnest thing is me filming the ground and saying "shit!" when that 13.90 was posted on the board. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Then you can hear me saying "way to go Steve!"

Blake, thanks for posting the video.
I was going to say the same thing about the chop...3-5" off the top should get you down the strip a hair faster!
Any video of "Squank"?

I'll be working on my '52 Ford all winter to get it ready for HC.

The video has been updated and posted on my site... luckily BUZZARD's shifts were pretty noticable in the audio, so it was easy to edit the two together, timing-wise! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

OK... after watching that again, I have to say that the 2nd to 3rd shift was pretty good, Steve.

But I think you must have dozed off between 1st and 2nd. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

She didn't teach me how to speed shift though...it's genetic!

That's Krupa. He was just as glad as I was that I ran the 13!

Of course, now we have to start back to work on his car to get it to hook up. He has a lot more motor, but zero traction. And that's with 2.70 something gears!
