Any of you Michigan HAMBERS do any light engine work on the side? Yeah I have very little money and a little skill, lots of ambition. Hell even if you point at shit I can take it all apart and back together. My Grand Wagoneer has a noisy lifter, and I need to fix it before I sell it. I have a set of lifters, gaskets etc all the parts I think I need but I hate to ask my friend to help me again w/this truck, he has helped so much already... I need to sell the truck and I can't sell it with a noisy lifter, it would scare of most buyers in a hurry.

It's an 88 Waggy w/an AMC 360 V8, pretty easy I guess but I've never done one... any help would be greatly appreciated.. !

Beofre you tear into it, are you sure that it's just a noisy lifter and not a wiped cam lobe?http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Not 100% yet... that's why I don't know what kind of help I'll need with it. I have a new cam too in case that's it.. timing chain, all that jazz... Just wanted to put the feelers out and see if anyone might be available to lend a hand.

Thanks dude

Those AMC V8 motors aren't bad at all to work on. I can't do heavy work, but I can come over, drink beer and walk ya through it...nothing too tricky about that job...even if it DOES end up needing a cam, too.

(I had a 304 powered Gremlin...had the top half of that motor apart several times!).

PM me if you need a hand.
