this weekend we started to modify my friends pu -- the plan is to lower the rear -- a 3inch channeling (4inch was done few years ago) -- a new engine with 6 carbs and so on....

friday evening he arrived

so we took it apart on saturday

next work was the lowering -- here the rear crossmember sits into the frame

a little welding and cuting here and there

two boxing plats one each side

then the crossmember was welded on top of the frame

and the result -- 4 inch lower -- this was the work of that weekend

That trucks going to be cool, but I think I would box the entire rear frame not just a couple of spots.

Hey Rainer! The tri-power will look gay on your 58 and run like shit... youīd better give it to me http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I canīt tell from the pics, is the frame boxed where the crossmember sits on top of the rail?

What kind of intake and carbs is Ivan gonna run on his new engine?

Motor look's great. Yes. box more of the frame around the rear end area. Please wear some protection while arc welding, esp. your eye's.
