Saturday morning I went to MO-KAN for the annual nostalgia drags. There was a good turnout of door slammers, altereds, and rails. I saw a few HAMB'ers there. I had lots of great pics but I either need to get a new camera or a new operator.

I had a great day but I was a little unhappy with the runs that I made. I made some changes to the old truck last week and I did not get good results. I actually ran a little slower than last year but I was more consistant. I thought I could make a 12 second pass but it did not happen. Maybe next year.

I wish I could have made it there too. Sounds like it was a good time. Maybe next year it and the DOTD will be different weekends.
WSJUNK, was it a traction issue or was the engine just not making the HP you wanted? I know at the HAMB drags I actually slowed up as the air got cooler.

I get good traction with no wheel hop or spin. I replaced the distributor and I may need a little more advance than I put in it. I will check again to see what I had. I even ran some of there $4 a gallon fuel this time.

I fixed a ground problem in the dist., changed my advance curve (put in a little more advance a lot faster), rejeted the carbs slightly, and ran half a second faster down at the DOTD than I did at MoKan. :-) I like timing changes! The grounding problem was a lot of the hp I found though.
A half second is a good gain.
Glad you got faster.

Man I didn't know some other HAMBer's were going to be there. I have some cool pics of that even on my site if you are interested.

Anyone get to chat with Bennie Osborne (sp)? Everytime I went to the tent he was gone. Guess those nitro nachos kept him in the can. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was thrilled by the gain but now I want more. This is some sort of disease. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
