I know that Chrysler had them and Edelbrock and Mickey tompson made them for SBC and BBC but for what else? I would actually like one for a 318 LA but am unsure weather they exist or not. Any of you Intake gurus know how many company were makin cross rams in the 60's and if anyone made them for a small block Mopar? Thanks.

Somebody posted a link on here the other day for a 348-409 site; it had some adapters (Offy I believe) that turn a regular dual quad intake into a crossram. Not quite as cool as a one piece crossram, but cool still. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

they made cross rams for 348-409's FE fords, pontiac's,and I'm sure for many others. it was a fad for just a few years before the tunnel rams took over. I still feel they work better on the street. I had quite a collection a few years ago but there all gone except the one on my HEMI http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I do believe that by checking the apropriate box on the order form at the dealer

you could get one on your 426 Hemi direct from the factory.

the 354 were inline from the factory, if I order one now it would be on a 528 crate motor lol http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Chryslers came with a few different crossrams through the years. about 1960 or so, they came out with the long rams, that stuck the carbs on the other sides of the valve covers, just above the exhaust. they made this setup until 1964 on chryslers letter series cars. it was only for big blocks.

They led the pack with the first cross ram in 1962, perched on top of the 413s in the Ramcharger Dodge/Super Stock Plymouth package. my crossram (http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0SwD9AuYWlnVmrxdGtSypcB4Rbqlebsv3t!9BF*KINQRDRnSlH Uhg!Dtzz8elPIRY0UED*sVoePto5V3tGEIUzIcOwMdqH6iGutD JbuuQ67AFD2Z3WM1Zjg/picture3.jpg?dc=4675458629994735291) They made this style until 1964, and it was only availalbe on 413-426 b-body cars.

The hemi crossram came out in 1964, and oly appeared on race hemis. in 1964 they cast them from aluminum, 1965 and up are magnesium. they were made in 64-65, and 68. they were not available on street hemis, at all.

Edlebrock made an "STR" (street tunnel ram) intake for B and RB chryslers a long time ago. it was a crossram with a bolt on top.

But no one ever made a crossram for a small block mopar.

Four Thirteen, that shot is one of the reasons I can't sleep at night! I would like that kind of intake but I don't even have a motor to run it on yet. There is a guy here in my neck o' the woods that has a '63 wedge(don't know if it's a 426 tho)with the cross ram sitting on a stand in his garage been outta a car since a Hemi trans plant in the late sixties. He just pulled it freashed it up and was goin to sell it but never got around to it(he likes Hemi's and NOTHING else), the only problem is that he watches E-Bay and knows what this shit is worth.

There is a crossram on ebay now for a 340. Type in the word "crossram".

I was wrong!

edlebrock made one for a small block, viper proved me wrong:

this will bolt right on to any small block, save for an early 273, because of the weird bolts in those motors. David

Offenhauser still makes them for a few applications. Find a vendor that is direct with them and get their info and call. You'd be surprised what they have that hasn't been advertised in years.

I ran and Edelbrock XC-8 cross ram for years. Lots of fun, but was a pain in the ass at times too. I got my linkage from Offy and it bolted right up with no problems.

Those adapters that were mentioned above are on ebay from time to time too. Good luck

Damn thats a bit to pricey(and the reserve isn't even met yet)for me. At least I know they do exist out there, somewere. I'm still gonna try for a big block then find another cross ram for it. I almost bout one for a B motor but at that time passed because I thought I was getting a 440.
