I'm trying to get my 60 Olds ready for the Pile Up and I just hit a little snag with the generator. How easy would it be to swap in an alternator, and what would I need to do it?????I drove it to a football game friday night and on the way home the lights started to dim .It would'nt start the next day.I'm not sure if NAPA can test it or not. I need to do this as low buck as possible .

You may try your local parts houses, I've got generators for my early '60s Fords through them. Those were usually around $100, and have a 1 year warranty.

A reputable starter and alternator shop can rebuild generators. Check your voltage regulator also. -Joe
