mate, i reckon if you research EVERY single purchase, you miss all the good deals. sometimes, nay, almost always, i just trust my gut instinct and buy/pay whatever i feel is a good deal.

80% of the time, my brain thanks my guts later. at 12 bucks, i don't think you'd be stressing too hard about it!

I dont know how old that light is but it looks like your run of the mill spot found on many road tractors.

Get em all the time in box lots but not that good. the plastic handle is always busted, and never got one yet that the switch wasn't froze. The bulb will cost you at least 10 bucks I imagine.
Someday maybe it can be traded for something you really want. I estimate 30 percent of what I got won't fit into my plans, and some is of unknown ancestry. I got a new set of Milodon rod bolts for big block chevvy, they will now collect dust on my shelf 'til hell freezes over. Part of the game, wouldn't do it unless it's fun

The spotlight on my 95 Caprice state trooper car is a Unity...It looks like yours, except my handle is black plastic. I think all the new ones they make are flat black, instead of chrome.

Does look like a regular run of the mill spot, but it is really in go shape.
They whe very popular on cars because of the fact that most car headlites scked!! Street lites sucked!!And no one had outsie lites onthere houses so you needed spots to find address's etc.!!
Also they're great for Jackin deer!!!

That Unity would be worth more if it had a car name on the plate instead of just Unity. I got $60-85 for several "Ford".
Yours is a generic 40-50's style and Ive picked up NIB at fleamarkets/yardsales for $10 and resold for $30-50.
Good used ones bring $10-25 around here.

That looks like a roof grommet to me (to mount the spot throught the roof). Can you use dummy-spot bases to replace that, so it could be mounted through the piller?

My '48 pu came with one of those mounted on the roof. I plugged the hole and mounted it on the pillar. Mac's Antique Auto parts sells the pillar mounts for a variety of applications for about $17. Choice of R or L mount.

I use mine for mailbox ID, interior and backup light. Be creative - I don't think I could do without it now.

You can completely disassemble them - this one was a basket case but a little patience and grease works wonders.
