Teehee - nice one Darren!
Mind you - it's only this country where all the A coupes seem to be running 4 bangers.

Man, that's so close! To bad you missed 100 but congrats on stepping it up.

The patch is cool!

I steped up to a 13.42 @ 101.53. That's half a second better than MoKan. Would have been better if I could have hooked up better. The launch pad sure seemed greasy to me. Didn't matter. It was a lot of fun!

Yeah, the couple of times I stepped into it, I spun through 1st and most of second. I talked to some guys that have more track experience, and they said that Little River is the slickest track they've ever been on.

I really wanted the patch. Next time I'll have a spool, or posi rear. That should help a bit with hooking up.

Go posi..no spool. You'll hate it on the street.

I made a few passes yesterday. The best two were a 13.3828 @ 100.06 and 13.3809 @ 100.20 I won the street rod shoot out but I did not run as fast as I thought I would. I spent some time on the truck this week. I changed out the rear to a 373 with a spool, new distributor and I removed the tailgate and changed out the bench seat with a plastic racing seat(about 150 pounds saved). I will have to look at my slips but I think I ran nearly as fast at the HAMB drags without these changes. I really thought I could make my first 12 second pass but I did not come close. I am going to do some figuring and I may make one more big change to be able to do the 12 second pass but I am nearly at the limits of suspension. I do not want to lose my ability to drive the truck on the street and to take my road trips but I would like to go a little faster.

Flat Top brought me a third member, yesterday. I'm going to have a 4.11 or 3.73 to put in right before the races. Just to the track and back. The open 3.55's work great on the street, so I don't want to change that.

Glad you got to run yesterday!

327 Chebby in my '31 Coop. Just getting it sorted out after some changes. Since the last trip down the track, I put a Muncie with scattershield, performance clutch, new cam, roller rockers, and 186 camel hump heads. Oh, and I just switch from 3 94's to 2 Edelbrock 500's.

I went from low 15's to high 13's. Hopefully mid 13's with the traction issues figured out and a little work on the shifter stick.

you should easily get lower ET's what gears are you running??

I'm running 3.55's with an open diff. I think 3.80's or 4.11's with a mini spool or posi for the track is what I need. If you see the video of my 13.92 run (BLAKE vs. BUZZARD post), you can see I left at just off idle trying not to spin out.

Crushproof(Outlaw and Lux) had it tuned and dialed in really good. With a little traction and a little driving practice, the car should be much closer to 12's.

You've never been on this track. I tried to launch at about 3 grand and ended up sitting still as I spun the tires. I had to do like buzzard and launch at idle and lay into it as I got moving.

Buzzard would have easily been in the very low 13's on a stickier track.

Most definitely need to get with the lower gear and some sort of posi/locker..also a nice set of slicks will help a bunch as well of course...I would like to see the video though..?? sounds cool... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

alittle tire spin is better then too much traction and bogging down the motor. what was the rpm at the big end??

next time you should beable to hit the 100 mph mark http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is true. I personally watched Bass spin his tires down half the track. We were laughing our asses off. That was a good show. Now if only it was the big top fuel smokey burnout that the Loco Greengo car did..... Bass lit them up further though.

That track sounds as slick as the L.A. River bed, used to feel great in a bone stock 56 Olds, I could keep frying the tires thru 4th gear. didn't have a clue about traction back then lol
