I'm an inch man, no, not that kind, I just don't know how to translate sheetmetal gauge into fractions of an inch. Approximately what "inch measurement" would 10 gauge sheetmetal be? Around 1/8? 3/16? Just an approximation.

Get yourself a sheet metal gage.
They're round and less than $10. most places.
The gage is stamped on the front and the back is stamped with thousandths.
After you've used it a few times you'll probably have the thousandths aspect of it memorized . . . especially if you're only dealing with a few different gages.
