...and I can't find a source for spherical eyelets a.k.a. heim joints? You know, the little ball swivel things for a throttle linkage? I have tried several hardware stores. Maybe the junkyard? I'd like new parts, though.

Man, I miss easy access to Dorman. The two chain parts houses near my place don't have the cool 'extra hardware' like that anymore. But oddly they seem to have a shite load of stickers and neon accent lighting. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You can buy a wide variety of Heim joints at Bearing Houses.
Prives run $5. - $7. for 1/4" females.
Male Heims and double ended ones are available as well.
The bearing house Heims are pretty good quality, on a par with aircraft stuff in my opinion.
(The big difference between a lot of aircraft stuff and plain old stuff is that the aircraft stuff has been through an FAA approval process. Which can take the price for an automotive Autopulse electric fuel pump from say $30. to over $125. when the aircraft sticker is applied. Same pump in both cases.)

Other sources are aircraft supply houses - be prepared to pay big bucks - found at many airports, small and large.
Farm supply houses and oil field supply houses carry them as well.

Most times I've been able to walk into a bearing house and get exactly what I want with no waiting and the times they had to order in, it was an overnight wait.

I'll second that on Orchard Supply hardware. They have them with the fasteners. All the other hardware stores around here did not carry them.

I could swear we sell those where i work (advance auto) in a pack of assorted carb linkage stuff. Theres a bunch of various linkage pieces all in one pack. Never looked at em real closely so I could be wrong though....
