Is anyone running a Moroso electric water pump on the street? Or any electric pump for that matter? Im building up my small block and thought it would look good. I could run AN fittings and braided coolant lines. Plus the Moroso pump looks cool with its streamlines and finned case. Pics of anyones setup are inspiring also.

You're at the Car Craft Nationals. Or Bracket Night at the local drags.

what's wrong with a good old fan belt and a rebuilt cast iron pump (or two)? do they flow too much water?

hey gomez. just go with the standard issue shit. braided lines and electric pumps are for cameros... trust me it will be less trouble in the end.

They work fine on the street... as long as the rest of the system is adequate. Don't rely on this pump to solve any cooling issues AND survive on the street.

I have a CSI pump on my Chevy II, and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

But this ISN'T the place for high tech! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

First off since I can state my opionion... Unkl Ian Suck a fat one. I just asked a question about a water pump. I have space issues for a regular pump but I didnt know I needed to relate every fucking post to "old skool shit" As far as the rest of the information from other Hambers Thanks alot. Oh yeah the pump I was going to use is rusty, old and used...Does that make it ok now that I posted a question about a goddamn electric water pump.

I don't think it was the water pump as much as the "mullet mobile" braided lines that attracted the shit. If your skin is that thin you might wann try another forum. Hell if the car your building is gonna be an ad for Russell's you might wanna try somewhere else...

On my old drag race 70 Camaro (BBC) I used one of the Moroso elec drives with the short toothed belt. This had no problems and even worked when I drove the car on the street. It was a 10 second drag car. Dids not have any overheating, even on 10-20 mile drive. 10-20 miles was about the limit I drove it at one time, capacity of the fuel cell, and on huge slicks and no ground clearance it was not exactly street ready. Still the most fun you can have though.

Moroso claimed it was for race use only, but it worked well for me on the street as well as track.

Clearance didn't seem to be a problem in your original post. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
