The last time I saw the purple and gold 51 Chevy with the kaiser grille and olds head and taillights I think some low rider did the car over and cut the roof off with the crush velour interior hanging over the doors or something. Am I correct?

What happened to the 51 Ford convert that he was working on for Classic and Custom in the 80s with some Similarities to the Chuck Dewitt Barris car?

That dude is a customer of mine at Trader Joes in S. Pasadena. I freaked when I saw his pic. All this time and I didn't even know that he had that car and he did not know that I had mine! Small world, eh?

Brought his gold '40 to the first Roundup. And brought the '58 with the laced roof to the next. So we made him a Kontinental. Really sweet cars.
Jimmie too.

You are correct sir. I am the stupid fuck that sold the car to the asshole that ruined it. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif If I had known it was going in that direction, I would have kept it. The lime green/ gold two tone was changed to silver with lavender pearl in the clear. Looked awesome. Some day I'm gonna do a clone.

YES!! Hoped to see this car again. In '76 he entered it at an indoor car show in Monticello Iowa. It was white then, and it was so different for the local's to take. I went both day's to stare at it in a-maze-ment. Thank's Safari dude!

Lee lives in the old Pabst Brewery in downtown LA. He's still an artist but his studio has more cars & machine tools in it than anything else.
Donnie, I agree that photos don't do that '58 justice.. Happy Birthday Bitch!

Lee Pratt Rules! We were at a show in Des Moines back in the 80's, when a friend's 32 coupe decided to break in half. Frame broke at the firewall. Lee invited us to his house, and repaired/welded the frame. All the time saying,"Go get in the pool, Have a beer, Enjoy yourself". He fixed it and wouldn't take a dime. He is one cool guy.

Always dug his old Purple Buick. One of the first Rod magazines I bought as a kids was the Street Rodder that featured that car!

That 41 Buick of his was one of the first real customs/lowriders that I remember seeing as a kid when he still lived in Iowa. Glad to see that Lee is doing well.

I got a pic of his Rivi at the '77 NSRA Street Machine Nats. It was a awesome ride in white w/ a candy purple top. At the time I didn't know that full customs like that were being built.
When his '41 Buick hit the scene you couldn't even get close to him to talk on account the car was so famous.
I will go out on a limb and say that his '41 made it alright for us white guys to dig lowriding and follow his lead.

I remember when he usta pilot the purple 41 Buick around the midwest....was a really cool car.
And Jimmy Vaughn usta enter his lime 63 Riv in the goodguys show in DesMoines....when the cut-off year was nothing newer than '62.....He filled his windshield tag out calling it a "late 62" Riv and was able to enter the event..
