Speed/Odometer help 63 Ford Galaxie

My gas and temp guage are working, but no speedometer needle or odometer turning. What should I be looking for to fix it? Take the dash out? Look for a cable maybe? - Where should the other end of cable be? (one not lost in dash) Any tips would be great. I need some confidence before I go digging into the dash.

Look underneath the dash for the cable. It attatches to the back of the speeedometer. Take it loose. It should have a cable inside. Position the cable where you can see it, and take a drive. See if the cable rotates. If not, pull it out it is probably broken. The other end goes to the tranny. If it is broken, take the end of the cable off the tranny and pull the cable out. If the cable isn't broken you have speedo problems.
