Looking for 3:90 gears for a 1955 Pontiac. They were in straight stick transmissions and possibly in station wagons. They called them Hills gears.

Hi welcome to the Hamb. You may have better luck finding that gearset in an older Pontiac that had a flathead. The center carrier will fit in your rear end housing and they had 10 spline axles also. IIRC the ring gear is a little smaller and you'll need to exchange the whole center section anyway. My manual trans car had 3:64's btw. I think the cut off was 47? that had tapered bearings as opposed to roller bearings for the older rears. HTH , Bill
