I swear there used to be a tech on this, but a friend of mine was struggling with resizing photos and attaching them to posts, so I sent him this guide to posting pictures and thought others may find it helpful:

The following is a quick and easy way to up load large format pictures of cool stuff taken by you or, more importantly, your friend Andrew:

1) Get a Photobucket account (its free)

2) Click upload photos

3) before you brows to select the photos to be uploaded, select the "large" format for message boards. This will automatically resize all the photos you are about to upload. (ever wonder how I get such large, but not too large, photos on here?)

4) When selecting photos hold down the Ctrl key and click on the ones you want.

5) Click up load, and go get a beer.

6) Once uploaded to Photobucket, just cut and paste the image code for each picture into the text of a post, it will look like: --url here --

7) submit your post with awesome pics such as this self portrait:

To put the photo in a thread, hit "quick reply", click on the "insert image" button, second button from the right, at the top of the "Message:" box(where I am typing right now). The button is a yellow box, with what looks like mountains and a sun. Paste the image code in there.

Another thing, hit the "Enter" or return key between photos, so they are on top of each other, instead of side by side. Everybody hates scrolling back and forth, including myself!

I hate thise HUGE pictures that you have to scroll around to actually see. They are good for taking and re-sizing though because of the quality, but to look at on the HAMB, very annoying.

Thanks for the redux Mr. Strike - just got me a photobucket account and DSL after ten years waiting for the phone company to offer it in the sticks, all I have to do now is practice screwing it up. Now I can post huge photos that take hours to download on dial up.:D

I agree. And, if you follow my instructions, the pictures you post will be big and clear, but not so HUGE that you have to scroll around and not so tiny that they don't look good.

Photobucket is great. I've been using it for years. All my pics are hosted there.

Close, but you have to post the img code not the url. Like this:

Justin, you may want to edit your signature and replace the url with the img code. Just cut it and past it from Photobucket. Easy as pie.

Hey, thanks for posting the info on posting pic's. I haven't used this forum much but have often wondered what was involved in posting them. On another forum I browse quite a bit (Fordbarn) there always seems to be no end to the confusion and problems guys have posting pics (even tho there's good instructions to follow, and it's much the same procedure as for here).

Anyway, the pic of my Model A was taken just about a year ago after I'd had it in the muffler shop getting pipes made up, etc. It's scheduled for bodywork this winter and hopefully on the road next spring/summer (I live in the land of ice and snow). It's going to be full fendered, hood, etc. If you look close you can see a running board in place just under the gas tank (which will eventually be hidden by the splash aprons). Has a SBC 350, TH400 and '57 Ford 9" rearend, I-beam front axle, 60's mustang steering box and other traditional stuff. About the only decision left to make is a color scheme, and I can't seem to make up my mind what I like best.

Anyway, thanks again for the info.
