I bought a pair of 854 pie cut cheater slicks from NWspeed. I want a set of front tires that look cool. I was thinking 5.60-15`s. Problem is my wheels are 6" wide. Also the slicks are radials. I cant find any cool looking radial for the front. What have you used? My old "A" had bias in the back and radial in the front. I dident think it handled too bad http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif So would 5.60-15 look stupid on 6" wheels? Thanks

COOL. The tread is listed a 4" wide is why I was thinking it wouldent work. Most that I have seen were on narrow wheels like 4" or 5". Has anyone seen tires similar to these in a radial? tires (http://www.coker.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=17401&cat=&page=1)

I would watch out for the radial in front and bias in the back... I had that set up on my Tall T, and the front just cruised right along with no problem... The back seemed to wander quite a bit and not follow correctly...
I did some searches online and found that most people who run a bias/radial setup always suggested running the bias up front, and the radial in the back...
Bias tires tend to follow the road ( cracks, tar patches ) and the radials do not...
I hated the ride in the T with the Radial front and Bias rear, ended up putting a pair of bias whites on the front and it was a night and day difference in the ride!!!!!

165-75/15"s on 6" wide wheels.
Ive also got a pair of Bias plies, 5.60 15"s in Wide white, the exact ones in your link. I took them off because the car was a handfull on the freeway.

I ran Coker 5.60s on 6" wheels on my '34 but the whitewalls were stretched to the point that they were splitting from the black. Not dangerous, but ugly. I've got 5" wheels on there now with the same tires, it looks better.
I had to have the tires blasted to seat them on the 6" rims too, it took the guys almost an hour.
Blackwalls shouldn't be a problem.

I plan to run them on 15x5.

Stay with bias ply fronts if your gonna run bias cheaters on the back. Do yourself a favor and pick up some 4 or 5 inch wide wheels on the front. It don't even matter if the wheels match. You'll be happier with the look.

If you really like your front wheels it isn't that big of deal to have them narrowed up an inch or so. I always stay within the manufacturers recomended rim width for the tire I am using.
I am thinking some 50s era Harley repops with the big whites on both sides.

Put them together and see how they look. You can always change.
To me I think a rim thats a little wider than the tread looks good.
You need to worry more about the cross section (I believe its called) being narrower than the rim.

my bad. I measured the wheels this morning 5" wide.
The tire guys had a bitch of a time getting the 165 radials to seat on the rims though.
