there was an Arnie Karp driven "Boston Strangler." owned by Ellison, McGarvey, Karp & Hughes.
Never heard of the "t" though. I'll ask around.
Boston Strangler is in the UK, Jeff Beck brought it over in the early 70s. He sold it to John Bonham, its still about, it was rebuit a few years back.
Iv got some photos at home, but Im off to the airport to fly to the CHRR. If you can wait 2 weeks I can get them when Im back

You ask, you shall recieve(a little anyways)
I asked a buddy of mine and here's his response:"THE GUY WHO IS NOW RUNNING THE TOP FUEL RAIL KING AND MARSHALL, TOM STEAD BUILT IT IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. BIG SHOW CAR, A TON OF CHROME FROM WHAT I REMEMBER"
So try looking up Tom Stead? It's a lead anyway.

thats it Jeff Beck....I wanted to hear it from someone else first. I thought I had a couple to many and wasnt sure. but yes Jeff Becks T
The T-Bucket was actually built in the '60s, I think Jeff Beck imported it in '69 or so.
I have no idea who built it, but I do recall that the Green Bean has a certain resemblance to it. It was really stubby looking. It kicked English hot rodding into high gear, I think Hot Car magazine came out around the same time. I wish I could find a picture of it.
Thanks for all your help last night Mike. Damn, that tree came close to hitting the yuppie neighbor's BMW.

I think you might be referring to Tom Steed. If so Tom is the parts manager at Liberty Chevrolet in Wakefield Massachusetts.Tom started out as the flagman(before Christmas Trees)at Sanford Maine, had a B/G 55 Chevy(Burgess and Steed)in the 60's,partnered for awhile with Bunny Beatrice and Dick Roberts(the Boston Strangler fueler)and eventually ran his own Top Fuel car.
If you get in touch with him, tell him I said hello. My ex-wife used to work with him at Davidson Chevrolet back in the early 60's.

Yep;Mike was a mechanic over there when I first met him.Tom Steed worked in the parts department.I didn't know you bought your truck from him!Small world!
She graduated from high school in 65 and worked there until 67 I think;that was before I met her.
I met Tom through a kid I went to school with(Tom O'Connell;owned a machine shop in Malden and was engine builder on the Hard Guys fueler)as well as Bunny.Met Richie Willet when I was in the Voke;his buddy old man Ryan that had all the old Ford parts used to have stuff made there.I had lettered Tom's gasser and striped Bunny's 34 5-window and then did Dick Roberts' old North Wind AA/GD when it was green! Also did a car for a couple of brothers but can't remember their name(I think it was the Schneider Brothers). The first car I did for Tom was his Chevy powered Stude(the Daytona Blue one). That was back in the crazy days of the Big Burger and Richard's Drive in and the Route 2 Timing Association.I gotta stop now;too many memories!!

Nate:That was built by Richie Willet from Malden Massachusetts and called the"Boston Hooker".Kelsey did the body and paint and I helped lay it out and then striped it afterwards. The last time I saw that was in an old issue of Chrome and Flames and it was on a used car lot in Florida.

You stripped Mike's first "real" rod - the brown 34 roadster. That car has my frame under it and I have the roadster frame under my 34 panel.
When this thread started the first car I thought of was Spacey's full fendered high riding T roadster:)

Speaking of the "Boston Hooker", does anyone have any pics of this?? I thought I had one somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it. I have a friend that used to work at PV Performance back in the day when these guys used to come in and buy all their goodies, I will check with him to see if he has any pics, but if someone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.
ps: Boston and Hooker doesn't help in a google search http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif, at least not finding any car pics http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ] Would that be the same rod, they shot footage of Bonham driving in the movie 'The Song Remain's the Same'?

Maybe that's why I thought of Spacey's T - they have the same paint job. Is that paint by Kelsey?
Now I'm thinking of Fran Olsen's T (with the injected Hemi) too.
