I have a 48 GMC. I have got a grill center that pretty
nice. "Thank Sawzall" Has anyone ever came across a chrome outer pice? A freind off mine claims he saw one at a yard today. He's not sure if it was to my 47-53. I'm ready to get dirty and dig it out, but before I drive 1.5 hours out
I thought I would see if it was avalible on thoughs.

I have seen GMC's of that Body style with the outer Chrome trim, but not sure what year.

I assume you are talking about the "surround" piece that has the GMC Logo? I just looked at Car-Nut and none of the trucks on that site had it, but I know I have seen one locally with the Chrome surround.

That is the part I'm talking about. Thanks for the reply.
Looks loke in 7 days I'll be in the yard finding this part.
I've been looking to do something differant without killing
the look off the GMC front end.

I can't remember where its setting, but I remembered that truck just because of the different front end. The Surround was completely chromed, with the GMC logo stamped into it.

Seems like the Horizontal grille bars might have been slightly different too.

'54 and '55 have the chrome all around the grill. Looks a lot like this:

This is the front of my '55 1st series GMC Suburban. Before '54 they had less chrome.

I'm looking for a complete front clip like this for my '54 Chevy. I'd trade a very staight complete front, minus grill, from the Chevy.
