okay i need to know if a 63 Bel air front clip (fenders, hood, grill etc) is a direct bolt on to a 64 bel air wagon. Can i use the same rad support etc...????
The body lines match exactly so that's why i'm asking.
I hate 64 front ends, and this wagon is too nice to pass up!
I've got a Car Shop catalog ( 1-800-235-2470) that lists different parts #s for '63 and 64 core supports. (They are each $169 part # 63-07413, if you're interested)

Well I just parted out a 63 4 door sedan with 20 000 miles and the front clip is mint. I just saw this 64 Wagon for $2000 and it's a running driver. So i just need to know if my clip will bolt on to the 64 with the 64 rad support.
By the way, I agree with you completely. I think the '63 is a much better looking car than the '64, not as boxy looking because of the fender and 1/4 "points"... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

the flat grill really kills it! I'm really a 62 fanatic but there so hard to find and are usually big dollars compared to 63/64's.
Like I said, they are different parts, how different? I don't know, so some modifications in order or they wouldn't have made different parts, would they?
Someone else like to jump in here? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I've always wondered what a '62 Olds front end would look like on a '61 Olds, (It's my favorite '60's body style, from the rear)...should also be a bolt up since the body's the same.

i could have sworn i saw a 64 wagon on ebay a while ago that had a 63 front clip.......it was green ...anyone see that ? ...personally i like th 64 s but then again i like square cars .....that is a good price on that wagon....
The '63 front sheet metal will probably bolt on, but the bodylines will not match at all.

The Eastwood Company makes a tool that conforms to shapes like body panels. I think a guy could make a similar tool by ripping a two by four length-ways. Then fill the saw cut with finish nails (maybe ten penny?). The nails (plain 1/8" steel rod would be better) should able to slide in and out at least an inch or two depending the panel. Push the assembly up against the panel and the rods will slide in at the high spots. I would try to compare a pattern before I spent a lot of money.
You like 62's??? Mine's a lot cheaper than $2g. Didn't see the pic?

I think there is a pick of the wagon that lownslow is talking about in the new CKDeluxe at a show. I have seen this done on a couple of cars

my hollander shows the hood hinges the door hinges and hood springs and latches are the ssaem the front bumper braces are also, other wise it wont fit the doors are rounded on the 64 the 63 has straight , i am sure you could massage the metal to make it ,the rad supports are different also , near as i can tell it would sit higher on the 63, plus the fenders are cut out on the 64,in the front valance area, , dont know what i would do at first if i wanted it to fit,
