Norwegian 49 Mercury
10-26-2008, 12:42 PM
Hello everybody.
After a few years "vacation" from the toolbox, I bought a 1949 Mercury. The car looks like a Axemurderer used it for practice or maybe tried to rape it, but I got it home in one piece. Harleys and Hot Rods was my rides before, but a 1949 Mercury has always been my favourite. It is fucking hard to find a 1949 Mercury, but the previous owner wanted to sell me this car first time nine years ago... Well, a Harley is still my transportation...
When I found my Merc:

After the Axemurders rape:

I am not into multi$$$ carbuilding, but loves to use parts from my friends backyards. A Chevy 350 with TH350 are hopefully useable with axles from a 1979 Malibu. Low Tech and Low/ No Budget is me and my friends way to do it. Our paycheck are just enough to make moonshine and buy a few beers, so our Rides are not show-winners. (Thank God, for that!)
What I will do to my Merc? Well: Suede paint after chopping and channeling will keep my bad reputation at the same level as it has been for 40 years...
The 1961 Harley got the right wheels with drumbrakes now, and the risers the former owner mounted is thrown into the river. The other shiny parts and leather baskets was given to the yearly Boyscouts swapmeet.

The 1932 Ford is now sold to a friend with right attitude.

And at last: We rather sleep after drinking Moonshine, than end up in bed with horny girls... (By the way, I am sleeping in a 1960 Chevy.)
