Ok I'm Starting to run out of room quickly on the ass end of the A P/U. I thought about 1/4 eliptical rear but still don't think I have enough room.
Don't want to run Coil overs (Don't think they will correct for this hatchet job).
Tranferse spring is a thought, But the hieght will start to be an issue.
Maybe I can do a wild cantelever set up But astetics would be off.
Please help??

If you use a transverse spring do you need to have it centered under the axle?

Here is just a thought. How about a 46/48 style buggy spring behind your axle. Take the A crossmember off and extend the rails just behind the axle and make a spring perch down to the spring. It's been done many times and seems to work providing you don't "Bob" the box to short.

You can buy some good mounts pretty cheap from speedway I think to mount your spring

Box is already bobbed 13" and I have aleady put my cart infront of the horse so to speak and filled in the box to fit the kickups. Damnit, I have more welding to do!!

If you don't mind doing a lot more work you can mount the buggy spring in front of the axle. It just takes a little more thought than doing it behind. I've done it and it worked fine.

jam a jaguar xke rear under it and you will have plenty of room and a lower bed floor http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not sure if it was mentioned...but you do use a '35-48 spring, I think the front spring is a better option for a light pickup. It also has less arch.
