A few guy's from our club and myself went to a charity event in Buffalo last year..
This wasn't even a judged gig, just a big garage party..
Anyway, the 'head honcho' made 4 trophy's for cars he liked.
It was a wood base with screw's as legs..and on top was a Child's & Albert's aluminum rod..
My truck and another club member, John, with his '34 coupe both got one..
Probably the coolest award i've gotten..

A Best Nostalgia award that is a copy of Alex Xydias' movie, The Hot Rod Story.

I don't usually enter my car in shows because I don't consider it a show car but rather a daily driver. If I do happen to enter a show,I usually leave before the trophies are given out.
At this show I couldn't leave early because we were doing an artwork auction to benefit a local charity. This trophy means more to me than any that I have ever received;and it was presented to me by Ed Roth's widow. Thanks again Ilene.

The second best award was the trophy I got from the Deadtown8 at Pistons and Paint, the Shawn Howard Award. The trophy itself is... uhhh...well..., let's call it interesting No, actually it's pretty cool. Just don't look under the hula skirt. Monkey was there. Talk about a cool honor. Doubt I'll top it as far as car awards go. I found a good spot with my other car stuff, in my office at home.
I'm still waiting for my diploma from the Barnett School of Fotography. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here's a closer look. Cool striping, some flake, and the "7 standing" is real powerful when you know how these guys feel about Shawn. Thanks again to those guys for the honor.
Oh, and the best "award" will always be my wedding ring.

...........and I won this "Bronze [3rd place] award" at the local annual Pontiac show a few weeks ago with my 41 Pontiac coupe. There were only 3 cars in my class! Good thing a 4th car didn't show up because there were only 3 awards given per class....

Back in the mid-70's there was a local team of young guys with a front-engine dragster powered by a Hilborn injected SBC. It was sputtering, popping, and flat running poorly and I could see they were struggling with it. I asked them if they'd like some help with it and they answered that they would. I showed them a few basic tricks and got it running fairly sharp.
A few weeks later the drag racing club had their annual banquet and I was invited....I didn't know why because I hadn't been involved in drag racing for quite a few years and I wasn't a member of the club. Their banquet happened to be on my birthday and when I got there they had a cake all decorated up with an icing rendering of my dirt track supermod.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My favorite is "Best Kustom" Billetproof 03.
Not just because their awards are awesome hand made bits of art, but because it was from a great show with a lot of cars which I admire & respect and it was the first time I won anything.
I did not know I was up for an award, because there was no sticker on my headlight like they said there would be, so I went to watch the awards just to see the awards.
As they started to announce the award, they described my car - I still didn't catch on, They said my name - I still didn't catch on. I stood there thinking "jeez that guy has a name that sounds just like mine" I just stood there. Then my wife slugged me in the back and said "that's you stupid!"

I am a recovering Trophy whore. My last ride was shown all over the west coast. Did damn well especially considering I drove it every day. Here is a pic of all of them I received over a 2 to 3 yr period (I destroyed all but three right after this pic was taken). in there is a Grand National Roadster show 1st, several Best Of Shows and many long distance awards. My wagon has won one, Garage Grown as Des Moines - I love the plaque.

Hmm..
Awesome awards...
An easy one.. In 92 "the guys" put on a cruise nite for my daughters birthday as it was her wish. She was 13 with terminal cancer. "The guys" made her an award for her favorate car there. She got on stage an stated "My Dads car (31 coupe) will always be my favorate" and presented me the award.. Not a day goes by that I don't look at it...and yes shes no longer here
"Pontiac Slim"
Another by Jerry Weezner, remember "The Weez"?
Last one I will bore you with.
