Olds Transmission I D ???

I need a new filter and gasket for my 1960 Olds but I ca'nt find any info. I went to the parts store but they were no help.I need some part #'s for the filter and gasket or at least for the tranny. 1960 Olds Dynamic 88 with a 371. Any help would be cool.I have a service manual but it does'nt give any #'s.

NAPA has an Obsolete automatic trans parts catalog, separate from the regular one. Find a counter man who can find the thing and you're problems will be over.

You have to go to one of the obsolete auto tranny parts dealers for that item probably. Be prepared to pay. There are more than half a dozen obsolete parts places to try. Just do a Google search for "obsolete transmission parts" or "obsolete automatic transmission parts" and you'll probably find two or three of them on the 'net.

If your local NAPA dealer can't find it, they do have a tech line for older parts. All he has to do is make a call.

hey maybe try http://www.kanter.com/p64-auto.html they seem to have master rebuild kits, so i figure they probably have the pan gasket and filter too!good luck!

Mongo,don't make this a big deal and money dropped unesssarly. Just wash the filter with solvent and blow out with air untill clean,cut out new gasket with good stock using trans pan for pattern. The filter is fine mesh, will work fine.

Try this guy...freshly made gaskets out of modern materials. $8.00 plus reasonable shipping. Sometimes he sells them on ebay too.
