Let's see, SWM, 30.. no wait, that's something else.. umm. yeah, so..

RustyNewYorker, AKA Bill K. The Rusty New Yorker is my '60 wagon that I still haven't gotten out of where I found it. Found some bad rot in the rear subframe. Don't know what I will do with it now..

I live in Upstate New York, where cars rust and it takes real courage to work on a car. I dont know what else really to tell, usually I just dive into these message boards.. I like Pontiacs (57-60), Mopar stuff (55-61) and some others.. I have a '40 Buick Roadmaster coupe in decent shape, Id like to redo it but like anything else I'd part with it for the right money. I figure if I put a stupid price on something and someone comes along who thinks it's a steal, I'll go find two or three replacements and still be happy. Late 30's cars are nice. Customs are good, too.

My girlfriend thinks I'm weird, but she likes me anyways.. no kids, ex-wives or anything like that (so far).

I've been making money mostly by reselling cars and hobby stuff, sort of my own business on the side. I have a friend I work with until I get my own patch of land I can park some cars on and not get hassled by the zoning cops. If you're looking for something, we can probably find it.. just stepped into a car collection and I would love to get something sold so I can buy a few out of the 5000 or so there - maybe the '55 Chevy with custom grille and quad lights someone built about 1960 or so. Anyone want a '50 Ford woodie project? Bought that just to sell, but the resto guys whine it's too rusty. I say, so customize it, weld a coupe pan into it and then chop the sucker - dont think thats ever been done before. Or section it and do it up like a traditional custom. Then no one can complain that you cut up a cherry stocker to build it.

Anyways, that should tell you what I'm about. Any questions, ask away.. I tend to be a smart-ass though, be forewarned. I procrastinate, I can be lazy, my priorities are mixed up sometimes, but I'm not evil or anything like that. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

What do you call upstate?
Most people call it anything north of White Plains.
Wanna buy some more stuff? hehe

I can swap all you want, no cash to buy with unless I sell something..lol..

I have a '57 Pontiac that would be an easy project if I can get the rest of the pieces together, I'd like to build that and drive it a summer or so then sell it and move the cash into the next one. But some of these cars if I can afford it I try to grab them so someone can do somehting with them rather than see 'em crushed.

Oh yeah. Upstate = Syracuse, Rome, Utica. Rochester.. have stuff or know of stuff in about all those places..

Can you get some pics of cars if I pm you which ones? I have a few I might be interested in and shouldn't buy, but I also see that you have some 55-57 parts as well. If you have a more complete list email me and let me know. thanks.

PM away - I may already have pictures of some of them. That '55 my buddy is going to nab I think, he's the 5-6-7 guy so I let him deal with that stuff.

Welcome to the HAMB from another newbie. Looks like you've got some pretty good resources. If you can find em' I'm still looking for a decent set of Chryler Fire Power valve covers for my 331.

The only 331s around are complete - one's in a solid drivable car. I know of at least two more complete motors in cars though. Even some 392s around. hate to take the covers off even the one that's sat with no hood -

I did see a loose cover in a truck to the place where those studes are, if I get back anytime this decade I'll see what it fits.

Well, first off... welcome aboard...

Secondly, you're a little too far from me, but what the hell... I need mostly solid doors for a 57 chevy 2 dr post, good glass & regulators a DEFINITE plus...

Welcome there upstater. Lived in Syracuse 2 years.
I have a '49 New Yorker, so I was hoping for some one else in the boat. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Welcome to the HAMB man...I'm here in North Syracuse. Looks like you have quite the selection of cars...too bad we live in rusty NY huh? I will have to ask you about some yards and junk in this CNY area some day. Most places I have found are off limits to everyone.....all those "I'm gonna restore em someday" people. Anyway, enjoy this place, its cool as hell

Thats how that place with the Studes is. I bought a bunch of cars off him when I had money, so I can get in, but too many people are stealing stuff - or he's forgetting what he's sold lately - so he's not letting new people come in. I could probably take 30 cars out of there if I could find anyone that wanted 'em. And so it goes..
