So, as I was helping a friend of mine look for a 1949 to 1951 Ford Shoebox Tudor or Mercury Tudor, I stumbled on to the site. I don't know . . something about the word "Jalopy" that strikes my interest and fuels my fire. But it is nice to see that there are still people who are not afraid to show it like it is. There is some real talent out there and some beautiful machines.

It is hard to find people that will take me seriously, as I am a girl and I do know something about what I like . . and by all means, I am not a mechanic, I am a girl . . okay, chick . . okay I have two kids . . . (don't like to talk about my age) Still, what I want to say is that even though I do everything in heels, it does not mean I'm not serious about my car.

I have a 54 merc that I have been trying, (believe me the magic word is trying) to finish to a point where I am not going to explode. The project right now is conversion . . .but more of that later.

I am here to gain knowledge from any one that is willing to school me. I have been wrenching it on my own, with my own budget, in my own garage for quite some time now (which is probably why it has take me so long, and oh! I cant stand not riding it) and I really have to finish; and get windows, finish doors, fix the hood, finish the interior, get air suspension, etc.. etc..

I can no longer ride in this condition, it is not fair to my car. (Although I did take it out around town . . once! . . . while sitting on crates.) That was suppose to stop me from driving it, I took the seats out.

In any case I am glad to be part of something real.

I will post the site soon . .

P.S. any one know why my image comes up as a pink man?

Welcome to the site. Alwayse glad to help out when I can. There is a lot here you can learn. Being a Girl/Mom doesn't seem to be an issue here any more than Me being old enough to be your Dad. We're all in this together. Good to hear you're into the F.O.M.O.C.O. products as I think I was born with Ford Blue Blood. I have however strayed a few times and now have a G.M. under the Hood of my 51 Ford Vicky. I swear I know nothing about a "Pink Man" but ask anything about your Merc and I'll come up with some kind of answer.
Welcome

Thanks guys. I feel the love . . . I have been trying to link the site and having trouble with it. So just give me some time. The girls (my daughters) are at a sleep over . . hurray! a night alone .. Humm, debating whether to go out or go to the garage?? Still kind of early and I will probably spend the time fixing the site. Any suggestions?
