Pat and I went to Ozark Raceway last night. Talked to Wes Phifer at length about running these cars and If he would like a group of us to run a race there next year. He said he was all for it and would promote it if we gave him notice before hand. I ran the car through twice once for the eighth mile and once for the quarter mile. The only problem I see is you can't avoid the water and no matter how much I burned the tires I couldn't get a bite. I raced a Camero in the quarter mile and I probably went 5/8 of a mile because I was all over the track, sideways and fish tailing. I got in and out of the throttle about 5 times. I should have road the brake some and I would have come out of the tire spin a lot faster.
Anyway I have one guy who is says he is going to build one and two said they wanted to but were not as enthusiastic as the first guy. I am sending him a set of rules in which to build a car. He builds race cars so he is really capable to put one together. He said this class is what he has been looking for where everything is simple and for sure likes the heads up aspect of it. I'm tearing the car apart now going to paint, check bearings probably pull the head and look at pistons and try to lighten the front end. Looking forward to next spring.:DRoy
