I know the 28/29 ford 2 door sedans are basically the same,,,but without the fenders and grill shell how do ya know which one ya got?

Is there any difference in the bodys? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gifHRP

NONE. Even the fenders and the grill shell are the same. To tell the difference in years; look for the "SIL NUMBER" (it's under the front seat on the mounting rail.)

Then do a search for the MACA (Model A Club of America) where they list the years of the numbers.

And if you don't find anything on the net about MACA... look under MAFCA (Model A Ford Club of America), it is a little more well known. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The build date is stamped on the upper half of the firewall, near the seam with the bottom half. Over to one side, real small, probably rusted away.

Other than some funny AR (early production) idiosyncracies, I think there is no difference in the full run of 28 to 29 bodys.

There is a very easy and very accurate way to tell a '28 body from a '29. Look at the back panel in the bottom left corner- if there are 3 holes down there for the taillight bracket you are looking at a '28- the '29s had the taillight on the fender so they don't have the holes. I have one of each- that's the only big difference. Early '28 cowl & firewall are different as well.
