Well if you did not go to Denison, Tx this weekend yall missed an awesome show. I believe there were almost 60 cars that showed up for the benefit. Jamie said they raised around 1800.00 bucks for the family so that was great. We headed out early Saturday morning averaging I believe around 90m.p.h First time to drive the Coupe that far but it did just fine and got there about 9:40 a.m and the place was packed already. we had to create a new row in the middle of the aisle. Really impressed with the hole show raffle prizes which included lots of pinstriping art, 94 carbs, metalflake steering wheel, lots of art, shirts, toys etc. I just can't say enough about it. To follow up after the Pistons and Paint is hard to do and it was better by far so If you missed it you missed a kick ass show. The awards were awesome and My little coupe even won one. The burnout king from Ft. Worth even showed up. Here is a few pics of the cars I liked hope yall like them too. Thanks Jamie (Daddyo54) for a great show.

I didn't see Elrusto's p/u in the pics but pretty sure that was his shop-mates convert in the third pic. Did he make it out? I'd like to see some pics of that deuce roadster out and about too.

Yeah, that's why I didn't make it, either. I really wanted to go, but I haven't quite mastered that two-places-at-one-time thing yet.
Thanks for the pictures, tho. Good stuff! I really dig that orange(ish) 58 Chevy!

Does anyone know the guy that was shooting video? He was taunting my dog to get him to do stuff for the camera, figure I'll buy the video for posterity if I get a chance. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

These are a kit, I shot this one at a Canton swap meet and there was actually another unfinished one tooling around. The only thing Stude is the bullit. I think I could find a better use for my time but to each his own.

The guy that was driving that elcamino is a local guy but he's a real prick. He is a 500lb. asshole that talks down to women real bad. When he came up to the reg. booth he asked my wife how much reg. was when she said it was by donation he flipped a quater down on the table and stil here you go thats all I can afford.Eventhough he was at the local cafe eating breakfast that morning. He doesn't work and lives off of his "redneck lottery" disability check just because he's to fucking fat!.Well my wife and the other lady doing reg. didn't put up with this shit so he got pissed and said fine I just won't reg. and I'll my car parked right here. He parked that piece of shit right on the front row and sat his fat ass in the back acting pissed off all day. It's a good thing for him that I didn't find about it till later or I would have made his fat ass leave. He was the only asshole everyone else was generous and very cool. Some people didn't understand the tropies we were giving because we weren't having normal classes but thats understandable in a local open show.

[/ QUOTE ]It was good to meet you too. I've never minded doing a little driving, I drove 1500 miles fom LA to DFW in June without stopping.. 22hrs straight. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Also, I've got quite a few pictures that are scans of the pics I took with my disposable camera. If anyone wants some, I'll email em to ya.

I didn't know this either. We could have gave him a out of town escort off the premises if you know what I mean. He was kindoff large was'nt he. I know he didn't put that front end on that car anyways.

I forgot to mention that you also got a cool old Car Craft magazine in your sign up baggy. Mine was a 1958 pretty cool. Wish the prices were the same as advertised in the book. Definately worth your admission.

Man, I hate guys like that. It makes you wonder why they go out in public to meet others if they are so pissed off and anti-social. But I have seen a bunch of guys like that in the various aspects of the car hobby. I don't know why we draw them like flies. Why don't they go golf or something? LOL

This guy can't golf he's to damn fat.He made it known to everyone standing around that he didn't have any money to help OTHER people .I'm sorry but these kids can't help their situaition but he could have helped his.I'm a fat guy too but I'm not drawing a disability check for eating to many twinkies over a lifetime. He would still be a dick if he were 125 lb.You are right about drawing these kind of people.Again this was the only guy that we had problems with so thats not too bad.All and all it was a great day.More pics. are coming tonight.

You will want to skip the GoodGuys and come to the Day of the Drags. You won't regret the decision. It's an easy choice, come to Temple, hang out with real hot rodders, drag racing, night at the Continental Club.....Come on. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Didn't get a chance to talk to the guy with the roadster. I had the wife with me and we were "on a schedule". I had to check out 2 shows in 2 hours.
The guy lives in Calera, OK, just across the state line from Denison. Podunk town of a couple hundred people I'm guessing. One of my drivers knows him, so I can contact him for future reference if needed.
The show was part of "Platter Day", right there in Platter, OK, another podunk town of who cares. All the other rides in that show were finished, some 40's and 50's trucks, muscle cars, one tall T, a chopped 70's Ford van, etc.
I always seem to gravitate to the unfinished cars. Wasn't it obvious?! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yeah that show was put on by a Kustom King too.He is on the planning comm. and they set the date for Oct. 2 then he went on vaction when he got back they had changed it to the same weekend as our show. The chopped econline is one of his cars he bought it new in 74 and it was chopped in 76!Hey Joemoto why didn't you stop by the p.a. booth and say introduce yourself?

I met David Guymon a couple of months ago, he mentioned that he was part of the Kustom Kings. He's knows my brother Shortbus, and my dad and uncle both still have their '76 customized vans, so we had a lot to talk about.
I would've stopped by and met ya, but I was on a tight skedooley. Had a bunch a stuff to do that day and just blew through the show without meeting anybody. Next time, I'll hollar at you!
Dirty, he wasn't running it when I was there, but you're probably right, I bet is sounds sweeeeet.
