This event - the All Ford Rally - has been going for ever apparently but this was the first time I'd ever been. It's organisation was faultless, the cars were fantastic and it will most definitely be in the diary for many years to come.
I've got some pics now and I'll add some more later, it's getting late over here!

This 1911 T was restored recently for a TV programme that I didn't see, so I don't know that much about it. Everybody else seems to have seen the programme though, so maybe someone else can fill in a few details. It was gorgeous though, I'll say that much.

These guys had just raided the candy stall and were all spaced out on sugar. At least that's what they told us..... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hahaha i think they were feeling all wild & crazy after getting busted in the morning for no fenders! Mind i add a few pics when i've re sized 'em....seems like you beat me to it again.
Good to meet you today ARTWEAKI.....you can spend the rest of your days trying to avoid me now http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Limey, great to meet you too. How have I managed to beat you to it???? Where you been? We were stuck in Witney for two hours before plodding home. Damn, that A of mine must be faster than I thought http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Add as many pics as you like, some of mine aren't too good. The viewfinder on my camera is a few degrees out. I tend to take more snaps of the car next to the car I'm aiming at than anything else....
I've got about another 10 or 15 to resize but I'm knackered now so I may only do a few for tonight and do the rest tomorrow.

Hey, the gangs all there!
Pity we boiled up on the way and had to turn back.
Marco is looking subdued after getting busted for no fenders n silencers.
The golden T was raced at Brooklands, discovered by UK T guru Neil Tuckett and put back together this year. "Salvage Squad" was the program, I'll see if I can't copy you the vid.
I found a copy of the photo that helped them reconstruct the body in a 1973 Custom Car, the same mag that turned an 8 year old onto rodded T's. Gave it to Neil, who tracked down the original picture for the metal bashers. Up until then thay didn't know how the rear looked.
There's a days work on that bulge over the carb alone I 'm told!

Artiki,

Nice to meet you as you motored off in your banger! Good thing Tracy was with Kev or I'd have missed you! (Despite being old, he's rude too!) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not as much neat old stuff in the stalls this year compared to last...but fun nonetheless.

Nice one Phil, I knew someone would know more about that T. There was a plaque in the cockpit that referred the ignition and it was called 'The Magic Vibrator'. My wife took great interest....

Good to meet you too, Ernie. We'll chat more the next time, I'm sure.

This fella was ace. He was tootling around the show all day talking about his bike. He told me that he'd just completed a coast-to-coast run on it (UK not USA!) with no problems at all. Top guy.

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif That's really tickled me. I lost count of the amount of times he said the word 'tweak' when he was talking about my engine. Great stuff. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Ernie - Bob's got ALMOST all my stuff back, but some light fingered had the offenhauser manifold away before I could buy it. Gave himself a five fingered discount and took it out of the back of Lee's van so if anyone spots it, there's a drink in it for them.
2 pot offy manifold, pretty grubby, in the hands of a thieving toerag.

Great pictures Kev, did you fall over before taking the Panel Van one? Or were you still tired from your trip down to The Ace & needing a lie down?

HAHAHA i have this new camera with a flip up screen so i don't have to stoop that low, i'm sure it can do wonders but i've just figured how to switch it on.
Just about to re size some more & i'll add them in a short while.

Slammed i'm not sure on that old sickle I don't think i even saw it, maybe Artiki will know. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Darren - doesn't look like Neil popped the bonnet for you, here's a shot taken in his yard.
If you're ever over this way, you can take my old flivver out for a spin - some of the Sidewinders have been round to scare themselves silly. Remember - clutch DOWN to move forward, middle pedal is reverse...

Kev - was it you spotted Rich carrying an offy manifold about? He said Kev offered to buy it - did he mean you?
I was buying two, but one was nicked so if you see anyone touting one about...

Paul, Witney is near Oxford its a fairly small town but does boast some of the top formula one teams, Slough is about 60 miles away. I'm not sure on the office as i'm not allowed to watch TV! the mrs says it will corrupt my innocent mind http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Monkeybiker yeah it was me offering to buy Rich's manifold if his buyer didn't show, i guess that was you.....that was a shame it was just what i was looking for, but i guess you'll put it to good use. As for the other one i'll keep my ears open.
Kev.

Well the other one was dusty but identical I'm told, so you know what we're looking for. If it turns up, I'll let you know cos I might not use both of them - that's a lot of carbs to find, and I'm planning on LPGing the Pilot so we can afford to get places...

LIMEY
09-27-2004, 05:31 PM
I was looking for one without the gennie bracket as i have a crazy plan for carbs, & only want an old one not re popped.....so if you don't use it give me a holler.
Kev.

Lovely stuff, I'm inspired, I love Fords, especially English ones. The Pilot woodie gives me wood.

Thanks boys.

More pictures of common Zodys and Consuls please.
