Hey, Just wanted to intoduce myself here. I kept seeing this site mentioned on other sites, so I tracked it down and here I am. Right now my project is a late 50's-early 60's style 47 Ford coupe, hope to find the board helpful.

Welcome aboard! Are you keeping the flathead in your '47 coupe?

Thanks for the welcome. Heres the car, I've got big plans for the winter, hope to be on the road by the summer. I'm keeping the flathead, I want to put aluminum heads, dual carbs, and a better ignition in it. It runs good, has good oil pressure, and dosn't smoke. I've got one stuck valve I've been trying to clear up, but marvel oil ain't cutting it, I'm gonna have to pull the heads and intake, hopefully I'll have some speed goodies to put back on instead of doing it twice. I just put on headers and duals, sounds really sweet.
The paint is fair, but it was repainted in the 70's, so it's cracking in spots, but it's very presentable for now. No rust or patches ever, always garaged, which is why I bought it. It has an all white interior in it. It could use some bumpers and fender trim, but the rest is good. I want to put a dropped axle in it, and it needs new wheels and tires, but I like the look so I think I'll replace with the same chrome reverse wheels, maybe some wider whites. I want it to look early 60's style. I could go on and on, but that's the basic plan.

Looks pretty good as-is.But pictures don't tell all. It's good to see you keeping the flathead, you will have no shortage of stories told to you, when you open the hood.I have a '50 shoebox, the '51 flathead has been in it for almost 30 years now. I came close to putting in a sbf,,c-4,I am glad I didn't. Do you plan on driving it all over? O'Rilley's can get you all the parts you need. Flatheads are forever! Sparky

Yea, it's not bad at all, but I can't leave well enough alone! Like I said, at least it's gonna need a little motor work and tires, and I'd like to put some speed stuff on it, give it a rake, do some trim and stuff, and have fun with it. It's nosed and decked already, and was charging on 12v when i got it, so I had to get everything working on 12v and do some wiring, but that's done. I'd like to put an edelbrock super dual on it, but I'm worried my alt. won't fit in front. (the alt. was there when i got it)
