Left last Friday and got home a few hours ago. Fun trip. Gooch got his 33 chassis. desertratrodders guy got a 63 Ford wagon, shiney almost got his fenders, and I got my 69 Ford crewcab home.(another whole story)
Of course I saw shitloads of old tin and got pictures until I ran out of batterys.
I got snowed in on Donner pass for a few hours.
Had to buy 2 new trailer tires in Spokane
And of course both pickups are carrying junk that I picked up along the way. More later.

At my age just waking up every day is an adventure.lol I did get a bit of a pucker factor coming off the mountains into Denver. I was in the slow lane keeping it down to about 35-40. Near the bottom on one of the last real steep parts I came onto a drill rig doing about 5. All the rest of the lanes were at highway speed and I couldn't change lanes. My brakes were already warmed up and the trailer brakes had begun to fade. I used everything I had and really smoked the brakes on the truck to keep from rear ending the car in front of me.
I saw some cool stuff and will post pics as soon as I get some batterys charged for the camera.
The 63 Ford wagon fron desertratrodder was a bit of an embarassment a couple times since it was just an old hulk. The the new owner from Canada sends his old buddy to get it with a Ditch Witch trailer that is about 4 inches shorter than the wheelbase of the car and just barely wide enough. As I was packing to leave I ask how he was going to load it and he said the owner told him I would have a come along and everything he needed. So I help him get it on the trailer. When the back wheels got to the bed (tilted) , the fronts were at the edge and it was several hundred pounds from coming down. I asked him what he was going to do and he said "simple" and put his handyman jack under the back of the car and jacked it up and latched the tilt bed. Now he has about a 500 pound negative tongue weight with 2/3 of the car behind the centerline of the axles and it has no engine and tranny. I was tempted to just let him go but he was a nice old guy and I hated to see him kill some one with that mess so I told him it would never tow over 40 mph with out whipping like crazy and would no doubt be very dangerous. I spent another hour helping him get the car over the front of the trailer and onto the tongue to help overcome the rear overhang. I dodn't know if he made it but at that point I had did all I could and alot more than I hired on to do.
