Back to the top for Zach.

This is a great question, and I'd love to hear some experienced replies.

Yup, I'd like to see this answered too. Anyone know where they are manufactured?

I've just started running 3.54 gears, with 7.50 x 16's. Mighty tall with a stock 21 stud, but the cars light enough to cope. It pulls 70mph in second, and lopes along on the open road now, which was the plan - it had 4.44 before, world of difference.
I'm sure the 3.54 came from Speedway, seems nice n quiet, but with my engine, Lincoln gears would kill it stone dead...

Any installation stories? I have heard of one person who found them difficult to adjust for proper mesh, but that's hardly a reliable sampling.
BTW, if hunting for originals, the likely homes are 1946 Fords and '39-46 Mercs (which introduce soen weirdness into the equation with one-piece shafts '39-40).
These vehicles will have a higher percentage of 3:54's than other Fords.

Well that exact set (3.54 from Speedway) arrived at my door on Friday. I should be installing them within the month. Guess I'll post back with a little tech post.

I know that Speedway has been importing for YEARS. They were also hooked up pretty tight with the people from Motive Gear at one time. Not sure where they are coming from but great question!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Zach, Speedy Bill will be at Hershey. You can ask the man yourself. Maybe call Winters and see if they can sell you a set. We heat treat gears for them at work, maybe I'll check with them.
