Well,

things aren't as good today as they were yesterday.. While sleeping last night Dad turned on his side and disturbed the vein in his groin where they ran the catheter for the arteriogram... He's bleeding from a hole in that blood vessel into a space outside the vein. The doctors called it a false aneurysm, meaning that a clot is forming outside the vein. There are three possibilites with this- one, they do nothing, it stops bleeding and the clot re-absorbs, two, the make it clot using a clotting agent through a needle to the site, and three- they go in and do surgery, repair the hole and stop the bleeding.

At around 11 am, they were going to do surgery, then they were "evaluating tests" and deciding, as of 6 p.m. there's still no plan of action which has my Mom and I fairly close to murdering the doctors. He just went for a catscan and then HOPEFULLY, we'll know what's next. He was in a ton of pain this morning at the site of the bleeding and they had to give him morphine. That wore off and now he's on Percoset. He's in pretty good sprits but is terribly uncomfortable because he hasn't been able to move since 11 am...

If something doesn't get resolved soon, we're going to seriously lose it. My Mom already unleashed on one doctor, and it was a cakewalk compared to what the next one will be like.

I"ll keep you guys posted.... Best case scenario he'll be home Sunday...

Please send him some good thoughts...

Stacey

Stacey, thanks for keeping us all up to date on your Pop. They can do miracles with modern medicine, it just never seems to be fast enough for those in the waiting room. If I heard his name once today I heard it 100 times. He's got a lot of people working for him tonight, we're all prayer that tommarrow will be a much better day. Tim

You guys hold tough. We're pullin' for him.

Give him all our best and tell him to hurry back.

You said he's in good spirits, so, if he's up for a laugh (and laughter is the best medicine) ask him if we can have a pic so we can PhotoChop in a SUN machine, timing light, vacuum gauge and an engine hoist.

Keep us posted.

He's officially going for surgery very soon... Looks like surgery was the only solution to stop the bleeding, which makes me triple pissed that they didn't act on this at 11 a.m. YESTERDAY.. They didn't even give him food or water yesterday until late last night after they decided the surgery would be possibly happening sometime today.

I'll be heading back to the hospital around 3 p.m. and will stop by the Mobtown Greaseball on my way home tonight since it's so close to home. Thanks for the well wishes, we need them and are truly grateful.

He's in my prayers Stacey, I got to meet you're father in Bowling Green for the Hot Rod Reunion, he is a funny guy, made us all laugh a lot. We almost got him to go Go-Carting with us as well. Hoping he recovers quickly.
