I s'pose we can expect to see "another" one of these pop up in a couple weeks with an $18,000 reserve since "that other one went for so much"

All the bidder has to do is wait till the last few days and RETRACT his bid stating he mistyped it-and was really ONLY bidding 218.00!

If I saw this setup at a yard sale I'd walk by it.......well, up till now. What the heck makes this worth so much to some bowtie guy?

original GM part number set ups with all correct parts and correct part numbers are very rare. I remember them going for about $2500 back in the mid 80's. I had an aftermarket intake that worked just find for my camaro..

sad story? but true. At a swap meet Friday afternoon, saw and identical SBC cross ram set up COMPLETE sitting on the ground, asked "how much?", guy says "sold it about 5 minutes ago", "how much?", "hundred bucks". Did I miss one of those "deals of a lifetime"? Was there a similar aftermarket setup? Didn't Smokey Yunick have a similar setup?

alot of cross ram stuff out there, this intake just happened to coincide with the trans am racing and all the politics that went with it , when the ruling class said you can run no more than 2 carbs, instead of 1 ,to run high rpms chevy determined the longer runners and to keep it low they just moved the carbs laterallly, anyhow, my favorite cross ram is a 348 409 one i saw ,it uses a regualr inline twin carb manifold , but the runers bolted on and you got a nice looking 2 carb cross ram setup

There were a couple of similar aftermarket manifolds. You can pick them up fairly inexpensive. The Edelbrock "Smokey Yunick" one is may favorite. I always hada soft spot for late 60's early 70's Trans-Am racing....
