That thread is why I wanted pics of others. That one calls for info on that particular belly tank, not for pictures of others. I'm looking for pics, websites and all kinds of info, kind of like the Gasser Madness site, but can't seem to find any useful info on any search engines.

The only other pic I could find was of a 1:18 scale model of the SoCal Belly Tank.

sawzall,

they were both the real deal, vergin drop tanks when I got 'em.

both the same about 12' long and about 3' diameter.

one I got for free,

the other I traded a blasting machine and a banjo uke for.

the one in the picture had a fin behind the cockpit I made using the fins off a '56 New Yorker.

the first one got cut up and the second, after leaving out in the weather till the bottom rusted completely away, I traded for an antique clock. A Seth Thomas wieght clock from the 1870's...

junk comes and junk goes..

Deyomatic, you're welcome. I have a build-up article on Beatty's tank-lotsa' detail pics. Be glad to scan it if you can use it?

Lowlife, that would be great. I probably won't ever get around to doing one, but I think it would kick ass to have one. I'd like to see how difficult it would be to make one that is reliable for the street, I dig the idea of a one seater. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Funny you should mention belly tanks. I saw a couple last week as advertising signs outside a builder's yard in Belgium.

Sodbuster,

Does the Kelly/Hall team have a website?

Are they running no suspension?

That's cool as hell.

Not sure if they have a web addy or not. I know that Elmo Rodge crews with them you may PM him. I can dig around and see if I can find more shots of it.

Deuce Rails, Kelly & Hall have no web site. Nor do they have rear suspension. While I haven't driven the car at speed, I have been pushed back from the far end at Bonneville on the return road a bunch of times and it sure rattles your teeth. Right now, I'm designing the suspension for the lakester Kevin (Cyclone)and I are building. Feel free to email me if you have any questions And I'll pass them on to Jack Kelly. I've got a couple late 40's early 50's Hot Rod Handbooks. If I can get this piece of shit scanner working again I'll down load them.

Bigcheese,I reckon rules were more relaxed "back in the day".Being stationed on the Islands, the Big Brass were probably never around anyway!?

I didn't read through all the posts and maybe someone mentioned it but John at Big M Specialties in Williams CA has what appears to be an un cut tank standing as some kind of tiki goddish welcoming pole at the entrance to one of his yards. Would be a great start to a tank project and I have his card at home if you need it. Jason..
