wow, I like it alot, thanks for the pic. I think it has a lokar shifter so if it is an old kustom it has been updated.

I heard it was updated in the year 2001 with 8" in the rear and mustang 2 in front and 350/350 drivetrain and repainted to this Purple color was Orange color before have i heard but i dont know.

I think that car was on the front cover of the KKOA Trendsetter a few issues ago. Pretty cool. The photo posted above makes the back window look smaller than the rear 3/4 shot that was on the magazine. I remember I couldn't find out any more info on the car from the magazine, other than the fact that it was at whatever event they were covering that issue.

You don't cut back windows, I'm doing the glass on a chopped 51 vicky I'll post some photos of how to get around the problem.
I also have parts of a Victoria roof, I plan to hardtop a 49-51 business or short roof ford, like I did to the 52 plymouth wagon

He means you don't cut the stock glass because except ofor a handfull of cars, it's all tempered glass and just crumbles, as designed, as soon as a cutter is put to it.

I saw that on e-bay with a buy it now for $6950.00 the other night..I emailed the guy and asked for more info..I can forward it all to you if you want..He has to unload the car by the end of the week to pay off the bank or something..Something about the deal just doesnt seem right,,,but maybe its just me...Its a pretty kool car for the most part esp at that price,,and it was not a misprint!

Can tell you that the car is in Barcelona Spain where the owner had to move 5 month ago and i have friends friend in Barcelona whos looking it up for me this weekend...

I don't know about it being a scam. It is now advertised on Hot Rod Hotline and the ad says it's in Lancaster, NY. This is a featured ad and that costs $125.00 to place. The price for this car is also $29,900. Maybe the person on eBay was using the photos of this car that's really for sale on another web site.

I Got a copy of the registration slip on the car and it says the guy have been registrated to the car from 1994 and its his name on the slip!!

Sorry I don't have any info on it. I do have a 47 coupe, and my dad has a 51 vicky, but I'm not running for my hacksaw. It dosn't look as bad as I though it would, the rounded roof matches the rounded trunk nicely. The dash is the 51 dash too, I'm not crazy about how the dash is laid out, but that's just me. The crestliner wheel is KOOL!

Too bad it has another 350/350. It looks like it should have an olds rocket w/ 3 on the tree.

talked to the guy who had the add on Ebay he is a Hungerian who lives in Spain and has the car with California title and plates on his backyard but all pics i have seen the car has New York plates... This is wery strange. Im waiting for his next move to see if he gives upp or will come with other storys!!! will Keep u all posted on this story..

Will also phone the other guy with the add on Hotrodhotline this afternoon and hear his story.

I have seen some pictures of the car before and I have heard from 2 different places that it carries some Barris history. The car DOES have Barris badges on it, but you can even buy those on Ebay for $50. The chop just doesn't have the Barris "look". The back window is way too chopped down to look like a Barris car. I have never seen the car in ANY 50s or 60s publication. I personally think that a car with that radical of a roof swap (and chop), if done in the 50s or 60s, would have garnered a lot of attention...???

Somebody should know the history. I hope this post continues to grow and finds the car's history.

FWIW I had my ebay account hijacked last winter from some asshole in Verona Spain. ebay caught it before I did.
I like the hard yop look but I think the 40s back windows are much cooler looking on a chop. That back window just doesn't do it for me and neither does the purple paint.

He's a retired old COP and he was werry intressted in my story so now he has all info on the Hungerian guy in Spain including the cellphone number i have to him so i hope that someone nails the scam-man in Spain real soon...
