I was cruising through some old pics from my stash and came across these ones.Seeing how XMAS is just around the corner 'n all. Anyone have any "sad but true" pics of their rides being punished by the white death? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yup, saw our first on Oct. 2 and probably have some that will stay by Haloween. (sigh!) Gotta buy some new ski boots this year and make the best of it. Trying another photo of the duce I spotted last year around groundhog day http://photo.starblvd.net/~rrgarage/2-2-3.jpg

nope, sunny and 74 here right now, It'll be that way till May. Best time of year in Texas.
It's totally reversed down here, you stay inside in the summer.
Of corse heat never stops you from driving anywhere. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I am fortunate enough that my "old stuff" can sit inside. Snow is very rare in my part of the country (thank you GOD).

They closed down the schools and government offices when this shot was taken this past winter (1 and 1/2 to 2 inches of snow).
I love it......stay home, sleep late and play..........

Ha HA HA , I've seen how some of those southern drivers handle 1" of snow or 1/4 inch of our glare black ice, If they ever got one of our one footers ,It would look like a war zone look down there. But it DOES suck having only 4 mo's of good driving weather.
Granted, the white stuff is a bit rare here, but the funny part was - with about 1 1/2" of snow - how many people in the neighborhood called in and couldn't make it to work.
Even with SUV's.
I think a lot of them think 4WD means forward....

Screw the snow, What about the DAMN LADYBUGS!
aaarrrggghhh.
Actually this year hasn't been too bad so far. Two years ago my house was covered. At least two bugs per square inch on the outside.
I swept up piles of them in the garage every day....and they STINK. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

No shit.
At least the snow keeps the Ladybugs at bay.
I ain't looking forward to snow either.
I have to get one of my stupid S-10's running for winter. I have just been using my Fairlane as my everyday driver....
and there is NO WAY I'm gonna plow through a bunch of salt with that thing!

This was a month before we started to build the truck. Over 2 feet of snow in 24 hours. That didn't stop me from driving my '90 T-bird to work, though. The drive was really easy...no traffic!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
http://www.nucleus.com/~agingles/snowday.jpg
i had to add a pic too...
4 months good driving weather in MN? There's only 3 months of real winter. Are you on some wierd 7 month calender? Like a wierd cult thing? I love wierd cults, can I join?

Krupanut, you ought to make the Chicken Oil Ranch run the first Saturday in January.
Twice I've driven up in a roadster with ICE hanging from my bundled up face! That gets real, real cold at about 80mph.
And that's in sunny College Station.
At least the last couple years it's been fairly warm.

Snow isn't the white death, it's the salt.
FUCKING SALT. GHARHJHGDkjsdhglkajfhgf
Luckily I don't have to worry about the salt/snow anymore for about 4 years!!
how about a nice mix of snow and ICE!!

What the...., doesn't winter get here soon enough without someone having to remind us with scary photos of that rotten crap! God, I hate winter!!!! So, this year, as we did last, we are heading south come Thanksgiving. I plan to return around March-unless it is still snowing and then I'm going to stay until it stops. Did I mention that I really really hate winter in the north! This year I'm going to take my '63 Dodge convrtible so I'll have something to drive and to fiddle with. Going to put disc brakes on it and try to redo the dash. Winter in the north sucks-can't wait to get to sunny Florida.Other than that, I have no opinion.
Hey Oldandkrusty.....
Tom's over here and we dicided that THIS year We should keep an eye on yer house while your down in sunny Florida..rather than Craig..
This way you KNOW the ride's will be exercized as they should be.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here is my car. I drove it all winter last year (our only car at the time to boot). It scared me once as it tried to spin and head for a ditch.

...and yes they use salt on the roads around here too.

Tony & Tom, you guys are welcome to keep an eye on things but, I got it figured that with all the folks volunteering to "watch" over my stuff I'm going to have to get somebody to "watch" over them. Actually, if things go right, the only car that will actually still be at my place will be my other '63 Dodge. The Caddy may be going off to Bob's for some work on the wiring and the '40 should be going off to Oz' for the torsion bar front end install. My truck, well who knows what I'll be doing with that. So, hardly anything left to keep an eye on. I will be keeping an eye on you guys through the helpful eye of the weather man. I'll be very stmpathetic, you can be sure.
