check this out guys...
http://www.msnbc.com/news/980322.asp?cp1=1
“SO REAL-LOOKING you have to touch them with your own finger to tell,” says the Web site bullet1.com, which offers vinyl stickers depicting .50-caliber holes and smaller ones that look like they came from a .22.
Doug Rock, 25, of Sterling Heights, buys the stickers from a North Carolina supplier and sells them on the site. He said he’s working his way through nursing school and has sold millions of the stickers since 2001.
“They’re a great gag item,” Rock said. “Otherwise, I guess it’s just for the look, it’s like a fad. I honestly don’t think it will fade. My business is doing nothing but growing.”
Not everyone finds the stickers funny.
“It sends the wrong message to our young people,” said Gregory Wims, president of the Victims’ Rights Foundation in Maryland. “It’s sort of like a badge of honor. It sends a bad message.”
Daniel Morton, 21, placed 10 bullet-hole decals on his 1994 Honda Accord to make it look as if it had been riddled with gunfire.
“A lot of people ask me about them and think my car got shot up,” Morton said Monday. “I just try to be different.”
Morton, who works for a rubber and plastics manufacturer, said it was cheaper than, say, customized wheel rims.
“I just spent a few dollars instead of $20,000,” he said.

I can see it now. Rust and faded paint decals. Patina for a fiberglass car,all in one decal.
What the hell are wheel rims? I like the guys attitude. I bought some cheezy decals and now my car is just as cool as the ones that have real work done to them.

the only bullet holes i would run are from the gun of some backwoods country boy using an old car for target practice. i'd drag it out and drive it as is... a little .22 CALIBER PATINA(tm)

I have a line of real holes down the one side of my car. They are the square holes that used to hold the clips for the side trim. I plan on filling them this winter, but....I digress.
Some dude comes up to me at a local get together and says, "Hey man are them supposed to be bulletholes?" I said "what?" He says "Those holes there (pointing)...are they bulletholes?" The guy was serious too..
WTF I says to myself??? Until that moment, I was not aware that there was a crack problem in rural Tennessee.
JT.
a few years back, before the stupid sticker fad, i saw a black mercedes going down the freeway near chicago that really was riddled with bullet holes the whole length of the car, with the distorted body panels to prove they were real!
a few weeks back i seen a group of black people standing around looking at a caprice station wagon that had all the windows shot out in a church parking lot a few block from my house.

I love it - the guy selling them says he's sold "millions of them since 2001", and the guys sticking them on his car says, "I just try to be different". THAT's funny. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I guess I MISSED the fad or trend.
http://photo.starblvd.net/~DeuceRoadster/4-2-5.jpg
The two primer spots just below the door handle were BULLET HOLES....real ones, and I found three more in the quarter panel. The 2 in the door did not go thru the metal and the three in the quarter had been mudded prior to it's last paint job in 57.
I found two more in the rear panel below the deck lid and 1 in the decklid. The old coupe was a " Tanker " in the old days and hauled many a load of 100 proof mountain dew. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe I should go to the Harley shop and buy me a few BULLET HOLE stickers........
Don't think so...........

Hell, this is America. All you have to do today to be different is to stay in school, graduate, learn a trade or go to college, get a job, pay your bills, and not be arrested/serve time in jail.
I'm a slow learner, I just realized by typing this that these people are on to something. You can accomplish the same thing with a $0.99 sticker. What was I thinking of.

Hey Deuce Roadster did you get rid of the "bullit holes" so that you'd have room for your "SUPER SQUIRREL" decals! They "RULE"! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Mark
p.s. What site did you find that little "nut grabber" on?

A fad you say? I'll pass on this fad just like I did on twenty-whatever inch rims, neon, and 10 k stereo systems.
To each his or her own, I guess...

Doesn't that make them traditional now?
I'm going to Nursing school too...maybe I should sell bowling shirts with other peoples name on em.
I always thought it would be a goo idea to have a nice looking blond decal to stick on the back windows of P/U trucks to make it seem like she was sitting next to the driver, or a big hairy, musclure arm covered n tattoos clip on the drivers side window for wimps so no one one gives them shit when tere driving around!!lol

I still want to do a decal to cover up a fake bullet hole. I want it to look like a bullet just shot through fiberglass and bondo. I'll take a stack with me to a GG event, down some brews and 'fix' the mistakes.
I got yer 'fad' right here!

This is another annoying fad that can't fade away quick enough. If ya want bullit holes get REAL bullit holes.

I was stuck in traffic behind a cop car, zoning out on the trunklid.... THE ONLY place where those stickers would look "cool."
How much trouble could one get in for "kustomizing" a cop car?

odd you should mention a police cruiser. somewhere in this town there is an all black ex-ohio sheriff's car from some damn county. fella drives it like he stole it, it's all beat up, and he has those decals on the trunk lid. ONLY time i thought the ugly fuckers were appropriate. i did see a PT cruiser at a car show here in town that had bullet holes stickers, skull stickers and flame stickers, all very small, like no bigger than 5" at the largest for flames, small for bullet holes, and they were plastered like every 5 square inches. dear god, somebody make it stop.
