Heres a couple pictures of my progress. Patch panels all the way around. Recessed the wheel wells, firewall. Added some webs. Chopped the top 5 5/8" or three pieces of duct tape. I need to post three times. I dont know how to do multiple pics.

What is this grille shell from? It had three metal strips running all the way down but they were in bad shape.

I dont have the windsheild frame finished yet but this should give you an idea. I have no idea why these are black and white? When I resize them with IrfanVeiw they turn out this way.

Nice chop, need to see more of the car when it's a roller.

The grill shell looks similar to a '26 Franklin.

I'd guess the grille shell to be from a larger 1 to 1-1/2 ton older 20"s to 30's truck. It doesn't look like any tractor shell I've ever seen. Great looking sedan!

JohnyB, I am building the frame from 2x3. So I plan on channeling the body 3" So the frame can not be seen. I am using a 41 ford front suspension. I plan on suicideing the spring mounts. I want to use the front model-a frame horns, so I probly will have to pie cut the frame at the firewall to get it low enough. Im getting close to start on that part next http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice work. Tell us about your metalworking background. I was going to guess a tractor shell because there is a round hole at the top-front of the shell. I've seen tractors with a similar hole. It was for a connection to the steering gear. Old tractors were able to be converted into all sorts of oddball configurations. I've seen a vegtible picker setup were the driver sat low in front. This is a wild guess I can't think of any specific models.

Rand Man,
I basically taught myself how to work on cars. I never had money so it was learn or walk. I dont have a ton of metal working experience. I just am not afraid to try something new. I built a 1930 A coupe in 1991-92 and it has went on since then. About the grille. I dont think it is from a tractor because it was chromed originally. Jason
