Strange Stovebolt question

While i was playing at the hunnert car pile up my pops was at hershey, he ended up talking to some old fart about stovebolts and performance upgrades, since i talked him outta putting a SBC in his next project. This old fart was explaining how to graft SBC heads on a stovebolt, cutting them up, but the ports match?!?! anyone ever heard of this? my pops is getting some info on this, i can't wait to see if, just wondering if in HAMB land anyone knew about this

i've got a friend out here in so cal who's into that kinda thing. races a model a at el mirage with a model a engine with a over head cam suburu head, and a bbc with porsche heads. says the easiest way to find out is to get the head gaskets and see how close the ports are. if you want some info to contact him e mail me at chevysue@sbcglobal.net

The book is at my parents house and I asked my pop to look for it, I'll be sure to post the name. I think the authors name was like Telouche or something...you might go look at the inliners international webpage too.

I posted a link here,long time ago,about some guy who adapted a SBC head to a Model A block.This was done back in the '70s.

Check out the story at Bill Stipe's webpage. He is a great (and honest!) machinist who makes cams for
early Ford 4 cylinders. I haven't heard a single bad word about him on either the Model T or Model A
boards (MTFCA, MTFCI, Ahooga). His T cams are the way to go and I know people have had good luck with
his A cams as well. One of my future projects is a T speedster (1926 roadster with the '26 block and
a '28 Chevy OHV head conversion thanks to Neal Jern's adaptor plate, backed up by the T tranny and an
aluminum-case Warford transmission) and I will definitely be using a Stipe cam! Anyway, see what Bill
Stipe has to say...

The late Kay Sissel did the SBC to Chev 6 conversion years ago - but it was onto a 292 block - not a 235. He also put boss Ford heads onto the same motor.

These were featured in Aug 71 car craft, and then in Jan 83 12 port news.

Unfortunately I ain't got no scanner to get itup on the board.

BTW the BMR #285 32 coupe running at SCTA events has 3 boss heads cut and shut on the jimmy mill!!!
