Hello all.
I`m 38 year old carfreak from Finland city of Helsinki.
I´m working in Motorcyckle store in advertising department.
As a kid I start my car hobby with model cars.
And I still play with model cars.
In 17year old I start build my first "car", old PV volvo.
It was chopped by my frend Cossu,
he runs carshop named " Cossu`s Kustom"
I was 1/2 year practising period in his shop mid 80 ( practsing period belong my arts and crafts school lessons).
In Cossu´s shop I saw my first hot rod cars, and I realise I must have one to myself. But as a student I don`t have money to pay any real hot rod. It takes till 2001 when I have possibility to pay 1939 Ford. I found it from Estonia.
Now I`m collecting stuff for my first real oldschool hot rod,
and also collecting building info for real hot rods.
I also have make some pinstrippings to my frend cars and I have make some hot rod kulture t-shirts with screen printing. I l like hot rod and kustom kulture influend art, Rat fink and so on. And I have made some kustom kulture influeited siftknops with my frend.
I hope I can learn more about building real hot rods by joining to H.A.M.B.

Welcome to the HAMB man. And yeah, these boys love pics because most of them can barely read. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif And don't let them around your girlfriend because braille is the second most popular form of communication around here. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
And did you know that sales in Finland gave Brian Setzer his first solo gold record? Go Finland!
Have fun on the HAMB,
Big Daddy Eric

Nice to meet a hamber from my family's motherland. My grandmother was the first in the family to be born in America, and her mother began their trip from finland to here already knowing she was pregnant. I have a first cousin that learned Finnish as a second language and has returned on several occasions to locate family for his parents - and wound up living there for a few years each time. He worked as a diesel mechanic for a racing team that road raced semi trucks if I remember right. I'm pretty sure in Helsinki.
While I'm damn proud to be an American, I also proudly display the Finland flag in my cubicle in the nerdery.
I'll be lookin for pics of you car too.
The family name is "Haveri" or "Havery", BTW.
Good to meet ya,
John

Hi John
Nice hear that you family have finnish roots. In my family there is members who have moved to America. They left from Pohjanmaa, part of Finland where in was very comman move to America, in early 1900.
I look some info of finnish semi trucks and find this url http://www.racetrucksfinland.fi/ .
In Estonia they have off road truck races.
Trucks are old Russia 6X6 trucks. Race is real full of action and looks really dangerous.

Finland, huh? I love it there, I also love the music there...great power metal. Why is it that Scandanavia has such a good metal scene? I know, kinda off topic. Welcome.

Thanks
Yes, Finland and whole Scandanavia is so cold and dark place in wintertime that make us so freak, angry, grazy, and this is cood background to metal music and also hardcore and punkmusic. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome to the HAMB.
I see you hail from Helsinki, I met the owner of Goofin' Records, Pete, back in march @ The round-up in Austin, Tx. Hell of a nice guy, he is from your neck of the woods. He is gonna be throwing a bash celebrating 20 years in the buisness. It will be in Helsinki, Finland Oct 30. 2004. Just wondering if you knew about the bash?
