want a Hemi?

Here I go again! This guy pulls up drive way on a tractor (no 18 wheeler) and asks if my 49 Nash Ambassador 2 door is for sale? we talk, give him a price. thats fine, then asks How I'd Trade for a 392 HEMI. I said "you're sure it a 392?" yep it's apart but complete (yeah right!)
I told him I'd trade straight across! He said he'd throw in a 413 street motor to boot.
I have several Hemi's and everyone was introduced as a 392. I buy or take them anyway, but have yet to find a 392, this might be one. for the 200 I wanted for the nash (that was given to ) I have nothing to lose and might make a few bucks on the 413 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

How come the Pacific Northwest has all the cheap old cars? Every Falcon, Comet, Buick Special, Nash Ambassador or Pontiac Catalina I find in good shape and cheap is in Washington or Oregon!

The Northwest is filled with wonderful people, that are willing to share what they have without trying to make a fast buck on everything.
I couldn't begin to list all the free cars motors and parts that I've come up with or turned down.
My 49 pontiac (93,000 original miles) was free

Check the engine code on the top front of the block behind the water pump...354 will be a C55 or C56...392 will be CE57 or CE58.

I thought I had better correct you in case someone in the market reads this post.
55 thats the year, will be a 331
392-57 & 58
354-56,57, 58,
331-51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56.

a 392 will have NE57, CE57, 3NE57, 58N, 58C, 58N3.
a 354 will have NE56, CE56, 3NE56, WE57, LE57, 58W, 58S
a 331 will have C51, C52, C53, C54, C55, NE55, CE55, 3NE55, WE56.
